Re: When a Noble is a Paladin

Suppose we translated a D&D paladin's abilities into Traveller terms. Forget about level advancement for a moment. Suppose this Paladin appeared in the Traveller setting, and he has some ability to lay on hands and heal people, lets say its a 3rd level paladin for argument's sake, Those abilities a...

Re: Red Sunburst Certification for Corpsmen

Sadly in the US it has happened but I like the idea Alex offers and in my game I think I will expand the certification to cover any medic 0 or 1 or non-doctor. This would also then be a great benefit for anyone who wishes to work as a ship medic or steward.

This would make for a fun adventure. The characters find this alien thing out in an "empty " hex. What do they do? Who do they tell? Fun for all. LOL

Anyone played the Ancient Trails adventures

I was looking through Kick Starter and there is one for the third adventure in the Ancient Trails Series by Terra/Sol Games. This caused me to go look at the first two adventures, both offered as free downloads on RPGNow.

Has anyone here played these adventures? If so, what did you think of them?

Re: Medic Skill Question

It is entirely possible that a career Marine Corpsman could build up his career, gain a commission, become an officer and accumulate Medic skills that would put Dr Barnard to shame - but have no medical license because he never attended Med School (pre-career University) and started his career thro...

Re: Solomani Confederation (Military)

There's the eternal bone of contention as to whether you should allow women to be deployed in frontline infantry units, if you can avoid it. It's also going to be an issue on team sports, so someone progressive figured out that in physical activities, a man is worth sixty percent more than a woman,...

Licensed practitioners carry a copy of their certificate with them. Another is lodged in the electronic and physical archives of the medical school from which they graduated, and other copies would wing their way to the central archive of medical registrations in the subsector capital and sector ca...

Re: Medic Skill Question

There's a reason the doctor is now part of a freetrader crew in the middle of nowhere, customer dissatisfaction. One reason, true. Or wanderlust or exhaustion with bureaucratic life or was a "c" student and couldn't find a position or fell in love with one of the other crew members or comes from a ...

Re: Medic Skill Question

You probably need to get certified in each jurisdiction, if you want to practise. I am not saying I couldn't see such a bureaucratic move in real life, just that I really do not want to run a game where the Player Character must take a test in every system we visit to be seen as a Doctor. So I thin...

Look up George Ardodet, the Third Laird of Bonitvar, in Cosmopolite . I based him entirely on Aleister Crowley. Oh Lord have mercy upon us. What's next? The "Demon Lords of the Spinward Marches" supplement? LOL... Player Characters meeting the Demon Lord.... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e...

Suggestion: If you are going to have a running update on your universe creation than I suggest that you use a title with the name of your universe/campaign/etc. or at the very least have a link to your other posts. Or limit the updates to the same thread so anyone who wants can read the history of ...

Re: Imperial Corpsman

In general I would say that it is not possible to control the generation of a character in that detail. You roll some dice and see where you end up. I do agree, without GM help, it is not possible to control it 100%. But you can make choices that will improve your odds. If I want a gun bunny I pick...

Re: Medic Skill Question

Ok, in thinking about the whole Medic thing for the next game I am building, I am tore now at what level of Medic is a Doctor. The core rulebook uses Medic as an example of what the levels mean and states Medic 2 is a Doctor, yet they made the AutoDoc a Medic 3. So this made me think, if the AutoDoc...

Re: HG 2e Weapons per turret

From PDF HG 2e p. 23 top of second column: "A ship of less than 35 tons has one Firmpoint. A ship of 35-70 tons has two Firmpoints, and a ship of 70-99 tons has three Firmpoints. Beyond this size, ships use Hardpoints." The instruction above is not clear in my opinion since the text states that hul...
