One problem with an outside printer is that you don't know about any production delays until they tell you... As a professional print production manager for a fortune 100 firm I will just say that if an out source did this to us, it would be costly for them and it may even be the last job they did ...

They will be releasing an SRD. I'm anxiously awaiting to see exactly which sections make it into the SRD, so I can begin working on my own stuff. That would make things interesting. It would allow for quite a few backgrounds to be ported over that way. At one point I ran a "Morrow Project" game usi...

That is too bad because at the start the thread seemed to be a very interesting one.

But if it went to personal attacks etc then I agree with the Mongoose action to delete it.

Simpler, but by no means more realistic. In a case such as this, it's better to have the rule to be ignoredby those who choose to than to not have it for those who will. It also means no BBB drive 400 ton 12 laser boats... Although I agree witht he spirit of your point of view, I am also not happy ...

I have to say I like the Power Points over a real world measure just so I do not have to deal with the Real World issues or with the rules lawyers.

I agree, I was waiting to read parts 2 and 3 that you left place holders for.

With today's news release from Mongoose I guess we can say clearly no minis are going to come out from Mongoose. If they are going to kill off B5 and SST minis I do not see them starting up a Traveller line of minis. Oh well. Too bad. Daniel One might not have anything to do with the other. You cou...

The Ground Zero Games catalogue does, indeed, have a lot more pictures and is available here. Also you may want to revisit their store. They have been working hard to get many pictures up. May have been working but there's still like 3 pictures from 58 eurasian 25mm models, no pictures from israeli...

Thanks for catching that. I edited/corrected the post annotating my screwup. Oh, Ok. Not a problem. Back on topic, I have used various miniatures over the long history of my RPGing life. From paper chits, to Steve Jackson's Paper fold ups, 10mm, 15mm, 25mm, and even lego people and the StarWars fig...

Early Axis and Allies miniatures figures were advertised as 15mm and the vehicles were even too small for that. When did they say 25mm????

Most people here own or have created the rules that they use for Traveller anyways. So it boils down to buying it for fan appreciation...or having another set of rules you can utilize in your game. I think you should have had one more option. "Yes, but only because I collect Traveller Items." I realize Mongoose does not care why I buy a book, but they will care if the fan base does not buy all of the books. At this point I am going to buy some of the extra background books, but I may pass on t...

One minor point that does need to be stated even though I am sure many already know this is: Once the random generation is done I can tweak it to what I want. So if I want a research station or fuel only starport on a lonely empty world I can still place it there as the GM. What I want out of any ra...

My players experienced it differently: Long stretches of nothing, boredom, slow-mo "action". Rounds and rounds of only one or two persons even acting, all others occupied with turning dice and waiting. This is how our first game felt as well. But we thought part of the issue was our reviewing of ru...

I believe that if you speak to those who have fired a real RL (AT-4 for example) and not some Airsoft thing, you will find there is a recoil effect regardless of the backblast. Daniel I've fired only an AT-4, but it seems a classic example. Not recoil like a rifle (backward pressure), but it gives ...
