Re: Military Weapons

(as is a civilian gauss pistol, i.e. not a fully automatic one). I like this idea. Take the Autofire feature out and it is not a military only model. Have to add this to my house rule file. You're welcome. :) Also, I have moved pistols to where shotguns are, shotguns and rifles down one l...

Re: Military Weapons

You can bet that well funded police departments will line their body armour with reflec. And they'd look like a bunch of walking frozen dinner packs. Sure, at TL 10. It'd be less so at higher TLs. Also, I have a house rule for if I ever run Traveller; laser pistols are rated under the same law leve...

Re: What is the TL of a person?

Short-time lurker, first time poster! The CSC has guided ammo for pistols and rifles available at TL10. However, the guided property is based on the TL of the weapon vs that of the target. If I use guided ammo against a person, what's their effective TL? NIL, and therefore just the inherent DM+1? T...

Another good one.

I wouldn't be surprised if Battletech drew parts from Traveller, as FASA did publish some Traveller material years ago. Though they could've drawn from the same origins...

Nicely done. I don't know if they're all to scale to each other.

Re: Safari Ship

I decided to make this one a working ship instead of a pleasure boat. I imagine universities would operate a few of these for research and educational efforts since they are fairly common, and suited to being modified with labs, and workshops. I fully agree with this. It's sort of like the Type Y Y...

Re: Milky Wader Fast Yacht

AnotherDilbert, that's actually pretty good. I may go with that as my second edition version. Thank you! :)

wbnc, I pictured it as streamlined. Maybe a bit like a Fiery Gazelle crossed with a Type T? (See what you can do with that? ;) )

Here it is: viewtopic.php?f=89&t=119380
It's a CT design for now and I will convert to MGT 1E when I get around to it.

Milky Wader Fast Yacht

CT Book 2 Design (MGT 1e design upcoming). This 200 ton fast yacht is a relatively rare and new variation of the noble's plaything, for the noble who wishes to have the ability to outrun most of the hostile encounters that might wish to capture a noble. The Milky Wader class: TL 9-13, 200 ton yacht,...

Re: 200 ton Yacht : Alternate style

I love the idea of a jaded noble throwing the keys at the Dockmaster who just slapped a fine on him for parking his yacht in the wrong part of the spaceport. "oh, just keep it, you silly little man. This wasn't even my favourite. I have a dozen just like this one back home. Give it to one of my exe...

Re: Art:200 Ton Free trader

I'm thinking your Free Trader is cool if not in the original style - but I think style would tend to change over the years anyways. Obviously your version is a variant. :)
And after all, tech will change and has multiple designs and implementations. (Regardless of what certain individuals think.)

Re: 200 ton Yacht : Alternate style

It's different, for sure. Kinda looks like a fighter with a spinal mount. :) But it is sporty! I'd like to see what you do for a deckplan for it (I dunno if you do deckplans; it's cool if you don't). I also did a streamlined, jump-2 variety a while ago. It was on the theory that your average low-sta...

Re: Art:200 Ton Free trader

Maybe everyone should step back a little here. Far be it for me to defend T-T, but actually I don't think he's trolling here, and I don't think he's being hostile. I would however suggest that you're being rather over-defensive. You were commenting about "exhaust ports". All T-T said was that that ...

Re: Art:200 Ton Free trader

Except I’m not trolling. You’re just choosing to take it that way. I pointed out that the foundation for your criticism was in error, and, therefore, your criticism was invalid. Now, you may not like that I did this, but that doesn’t make it some kind of personal attack. You were simply wrong about...

Re: Art:200 Ton Free trader

Not when you are trying to apply those assumptions as part of constructive criticism. Any attempt at constructive criticism based on an invalid assumption is destructive, whether intentional or not. And yet, when specifically told that you're trolling, you keep trolling, which is even more destruct...

The Fat Trader usually comes with a launch. Other than that, I like your takes on the design. Looks a bit more futuristic than the originals (which is good).

Neither of which requires you comment upon them. Ergo, you're trolling.
