Re: Ship's Locker: Out of the Closet

The shotgun doesn't seem to have been developed much beyond it's explosive propulsion. The gauss rifle accelerates a four millimetre slug at one and a half kilometres per second; while shotgun calibres out (presumably) at a default eighteen and a half millimetres, but at around five hundred metres ...

Re: Lock Picking Skill?

Traveller Core Rulebook covers this on page 144, or 152 for 2nd edition. Mechanical: Requiring a key or combination. These can be opened with an Average (+0) Mechanic check or by stealing a key or learning the combination. This idvwhat I do, though for electronic locks I would use the Electronics o...

Re: ATV and AFV

I like these, especially the AFV.
-Daniel- wrote:I like them, very nice look.

On the AFV I would show some sort of protection for the struts holding the tires. Looks like an obvious target for the AT Missiles. Otherwise, I like them. :D
Yes, definitely. And the gun could have a turret.

Re: Fusion Cannon: Art and extended description

Thanks for the detailing of the Fusion Gun. The unique features made me think about a creative design based on the iconic Romulan Warbird. A small close configuration, reinforced ship (100 dton) with high speed (7g), tough armor (4 plus armored bulkheads for the power plant, maneuver drive, fuel ta...

Re: Art: 2e Gig with Interiors

I'm not sure I like the designs in and of themselves, but it's because of the nacelles. They break up the streamlining. Otherwise they're very well drawn. Keep it up! Thanks for the comment. This particular design is a rework of the gig from the core rules so I can't take credit for the basic shape...

Re: Laser rifles in the military

I would figure that a laser battery would be getting smaller and/or more power-efficient at TL 10 and then again at TL 11. So both lighter and more shots. Might be, but that's not what I want to talk about, because it's trivial. :) I want to talk about laser rifles with heavy battery backpacks. It ...

It's up to them how good it is, though (I think they'll do fine).

Re: The Aging Table: Why are We Scared of It?

I've also joined the Grey Hairs Club, and I think I've got reductions in my hearing and vision. If we are talking real life, heck my right knee is going out, my eye sight has been going for a while, and sitting at a desk for 30+ years has not helped my figure. I'm still of the opinion tha...

Re: The Aging Table: Why are We Scared of It?

I have personally failed a few of my Aging Rolls, and let me tell you it is not fun. :) I've also joined the Grey Hairs Club, and I think I've got reductions in my hearing and vision. On the other hand, I play a Scout who made 5 terms before mustering out. Which means he's my age, and I figure, hey...

Re: Railgun Barbettes?

Railgun Barbettes? Are they missing from 2.0? Yes, but we can imagine what they would be like by comparing Railgun and Plasma-pulse bays. Railguns are much worse. Perhaps: Barbette: Railgun: TL10, 2D, Auto 3, Short range, MCr 10. Turret: Railgun: TL10, 1D, Auto 3, Short range, MCr 5. Who would want...

Re: Colonisation Campaign Question

My GM has had us dealing with the Imperial Army Corps of Engineers while a unit of it was building up a starport on an uninhabited world. The in-game reason is that they're putting it in so the world can be colonized, so we're also exploring old Vilani/Ziru Sirka bases crewed by robots. This was usi...
