Re: Pirates of Drinax Kickstarter?

Now, that is going to happen, no matter what. But it did occur to me that it might be fun if we ran a little Kickstarter alongside its release - not for the book itself, but for little knick-knacks and additions to improve the gaming experience in this campaign. I was thinking along the lines of; G...

Re: Leasing spacecraft in Traveller

I like the idea that paid-for, used spacecraft would be a lot cheaper but quirky to run.

Prior to that I was going to ensure that at least one player character was an ex-scout and had an old scout ship on loan from the Imperial Scout Service.

Re: Is it time for the State of The Mongoose?

While the second edition had been worked on for quite some time (pretty much started after the launch of the first!), it got the green light just a couple of weeks after the State was posted! But yes, it is time for another State. I'll see what I can do this month or next but, as someone pointed ou...

I've got two copies of the first edition. If the second edition came out as a hardback I would definitely buy it.

Re: Future Traveller - Suggestions Appreciated

Computers are better than dice, they don't fall off the table when you roll the virtual dice, with Traveller, you only had d6s, with a computer you can have, d2, d3, d4, d5, d6, d7, d8, d9, dn, whatever you want, an excel spreadsheet can facilitate it. What would really be useful would be a dice ap...

Re: More Type S art

Lets say the scout ship's maneuver drive was damaged, could it make an unpowered landing using its glide characteristic? It is basically a wedge-shaped hull, which means it is a flying wing. Seems the landing gear is not particularly designed for making runway landings. If that happened in a game I...

Will this involve replacing the 2300AD main book?

Re: 1st ED. Q: How much does it cost to hire NPCs?

The first page of Spacecraft Operations, page 137, has a small table of (possibly NPC) crew characters. That might help.

Re: Ow, my eyes

Downloaded NEWTRAV_UPDATE_4_DEC.pdf had a look at Careers. It is now black text on a pale blue background. Had to press CTRL and + to zoom in to read it on my computer. Looks OK to me. However, the colourful PDF is 38.2MB and slows down my computer considerably. The printer friendly PDF is 4.9MB, is...

As things stand, the crew table does not make any provision for the Chicken Soup Machine Nozzle Technician (or other minor crew roles).

Are we bothered by this?
No :)

Re: [Playtest Focus] Final Update?

Can we get it in a single PDF format? I keep a lot of my RPG books on my tablet, and the separate docs stops me from keeping it on the go, which is where I do most of my reading. Otherwise I need to sit at my desk. Hopefully it's not just me :) Not sure how comfortable you are with I.T. but I use L...

Bows

Decidedly low-tech but...

Had a look at today's CSC and I wondered if bows would be represented.

Bows could be used:-
* As silent distance killers
* As a means for hunting for food
* As a means to get a rope across a ravine.

Re: Index in printed books.

You're right. It's easy to forget about indexes when you're working with searchable soft copies, but a book just doesn't work without one. In fact, and index and a table of contents. And a glossary please? Not to forget that people are already working on an inspirational books/films/etc list also o...
