Re: New Release - Atlas of the French Arm in Hardback!

Any idea when this will make UK distribution? Leisure Games don't have it yet and it isn't on their new releases list for March 1st. No idea. I have been tracking Esdevium Game's "New Release" PDFs on http://www.esdeviumgames.com/ but it looks like it will be March at the earliest before a copy arr...

Re: [[[ Playtest Focus ]]] Robots

Only robots can guarantee perfect operations. I disagree. There are so many things that can go wrong. Assuming that everything is working OK, a robot will be more likely to produce repeatable, predictable results better than a Sophont. However, a Sophont is likely to be better at dealing with novel...

Re: Pirates of Drinax Kickstarter?

Okay, after a great deal of thought, it looks like we are going to scrap this idea - no Kickstarter for Drinax. What we will do instead is a two volume hardback set, in slip case, likely with big poster map of the entire sector. A real deluxe edition of what is possibly the greatest Traveller campa...

Re: Mongoose News - Atlas of the French Arm Hardback

Hello There,

When will "Atlas of the French Arm" reach the shops? I buy my books from Travelling Man in Newcastle. I think they get their stuff from Esdevium Games. I have checked out the "New Releases" PDFs on http://www.esdeviumgames.com/ but I've seen nothing so far.

:)

Re: New Edition of Traveller is Here!

Hang on, but if I made the whole thing possible by funding the beta testing, I get... nothing? That doesn't seem equitable. I thought that the money you put towards the beta can be put towards buying the new edition, when available. I certainly hope so. If people who buy the print version get a fre...

Re: Pirates of Drinax Kickstarter?

Now, that is going to happen, no matter what. But it did occur to me that it might be fun if we ran a little Kickstarter alongside its release - not for the book itself, but for little knick-knacks and additions to improve the gaming experience in this campaign. I was thinking along the lines of; G...

Re: Leasing spacecraft in Traveller

I like the idea that paid-for, used spacecraft would be a lot cheaper but quirky to run.

Prior to that I was going to ensure that at least one player character was an ex-scout and had an old scout ship on loan from the Imperial Scout Service.

Re: Is it time for the State of The Mongoose?

While the second edition had been worked on for quite some time (pretty much started after the launch of the first!), it got the green light just a couple of weeks after the State was posted! But yes, it is time for another State. I'll see what I can do this month or next but, as someone pointed ou...

I've got two copies of the first edition. If the second edition came out as a hardback I would definitely buy it.

Re: Future Traveller - Suggestions Appreciated

Computers are better than dice, they don't fall off the table when you roll the virtual dice, with Traveller, you only had d6s, with a computer you can have, d2, d3, d4, d5, d6, d7, d8, d9, dn, whatever you want, an excel spreadsheet can facilitate it. What would really be useful would be a dice ap...

Re: More Type S art

Lets say the scout ship's maneuver drive was damaged, could it make an unpowered landing using its glide characteristic? It is basically a wedge-shaped hull, which means it is a flying wing. Seems the landing gear is not particularly designed for making runway landings. If that happened in a game I...

Re: 1st ED. Q: How much does it cost to hire NPCs?

The first page of Spacecraft Operations, page 137, has a small table of (possibly NPC) crew characters. That might help.
