Re: Index in printed books.

You're right. It's easy to forget about indexes when you're working with searchable soft copies, but a book just doesn't work without one. In fact, and index and a table of contents. And a glossary please? Not to forget that people are already working on an inspirational books/films/etc list also o...

Re: [[[Playtest Question]]] Nuclear Weapons

Hi guys, I think we can all agree that nuclear weapons should be Destructive :) But if a Traveller (say in Battle Dress) or a Super Heavy Tank is at the centre (or near centre) of a blast, how much damage do you think it should be taking? Bear in mind that survival could always be attributed to bei...

Tracking Updates

Hi, This idea may mean more work for the development staff but I'd like to see:- 1) Version information put into the play test files so you can tell if a PDF is the latest version. 2) A thread in a forum somewhere listing the current play test files and their latest version information. I'm usually ...

Re: Why doesn't every Traveller product have a printed optio

And then those ZIP drives started failing big time taking whole libraries of data they were supposed to protect with them. I know this all too well. Because of that problem, I did a few techie things... * Stored my important data in specific sub-directories. * Developed, over time, a bash script (I...

Re: Including a list of inspirational sources.

As well as inspirational reading, could we have recommendations for science concepts / books / wikipedia pages / YouTube videos so that newbie referees who aren't familiar with astronomy / physics etc can read up on things prior to running a game?

Re: Adventure Design

What will the Traveller Starter Set look like or contain? What is its purpose? Not everything is set in stone right now, but; 1. Will be in a box. 2. Will be a simplified/streamlined version of the new Core. 3. Will have a setting - 3I-based, but be set a long, long, way from Charted Space. 4. Will...

Re: High & Dry Typo Sweep

All noted thus far - any more? Well I've posted this before. I've had a quick look at the Printer Friendly PDF and found my feedback hasn't been applied. Here it is, for your convenience... Feedback – MgT2 Traveller – High and Dry. Page 4 * Table of information about systems. The Travel Code column...

Thankyou, very enlightening, you have increased the complexity of this corner of the Universe :) I've posted it on FaceBook as well.

Re: Playtest Report of High & Dry

Due to time constraints, the game wasn't run. However, I do have some notes from my preparation work... Feedback – MgT2 Traveller – High and Dry. Page 4 * Table of information about systems. The Travel Code column is empty. Is this the same as “Travel Zones” from MgT1's p167? * Previously mentioned...

Getting up to grips with astronomy

I know very little about Astronomy, despite running many Traveller adventures. I was wondering, what is the best way to get up to speed with Astronomy for use in Traveller games? I've got an old copy of GURPS Space. Not too sure if it is still relevant.

TIA :)

Re: [Playtest Focus] Vehicle Hits, Armour and Damage

I believe he is asking about 1st ed to 2nd ed conversions. I could be wrong though, but that is how I read his comment. I would like that a lot. Not sure how it would affect sales. Having PDFs that help convert from MgT1 to MgT2 would mean that my old books are still usable. It also may make it eas...

Re: Map Graphics

The ability to copy/print maps using a black and white printer device is particularly of importance to me. Normally a monotone printer will print color just fine as greyscale. Though there is also the Print_Friendly verison which doesn't use colour. As long as whoever is doing the maps tries the ne...

This is how I felt but didn't post because it seemed this was already a done deal. Art over function seems to be the focus in this edition. Actually, we are looking for Function through Art - not saying we have got there yet, and we welcome all comments! The ability to copy/print maps using a black...

Re: Short Glossary in the Introduction

I'm wondering if there should be a short list of commonly-used but perhaps unfamiliar terms between the "Game Conventions" and "Technology Levels" sections. I think this would be best made available as a free PDF from the Mongoose website. Frees up space in the forthcoming CRB and is easier to upda...
