Re: After Action Report: Noble Armada

The battle opens The Church frigate fails the roll required under the Ambush scenario rules and can only move forwards. Round one sees it boarded by the Nightwing and the boarding action begins. The Soviet Orbital Infantry get to show what they can do against the Church’s Knights. The battle for con...

Re: After Action Report: Noble Armada

Ambush and Rescue I wasn’t very happy about the handling of the Soviet (Decados) force in the last battle (Carrier Crash). Neither the galliot nor the fighter squadrons performed well, though to be fair the fighter problems were more down to lucky hits than anything else. Still, I wanted some sort o...

Likewise (re-skin the trappings of much of Pirates of the Spanish Main to Pirates of the Spinward Main and away you go)

NA: Civilian Ships

Just wondering, are there civilian cargo ships in the Fading Suns milieu or are cargoes all carried by House/League shipping?

I was thinking of convoy scenarios

Re: Alien race artwork in corebooks

I had to smile, it was an interesting take on a soceity with nothing to hide. The idea of traditional Zhodani belly dancing seems worthy on inclusion IMTU. But if an Imperial crew landed and went looking to "see the sights" they would be stopped at the door by a telepathic bouncer who wouldn't let t...

Re: Call to Arms: Noble Armada--Clarifications?

When you send your fighters in do you roll each fighter's attack separately or can you roll them together? I have two Decados heavy fighters, their meson tubes have 2 attack dice each and do NOT burn out shields. The target has two shields If I roll each fighter's attack separately then both will be...

Re: Any word on Noble Armada?

I seem to recall that the next wave of fleets would be the League, the Symbiotes and Imperial Fleet.

Of the three I'd prefer to see the symbiotes as they are the most different to the existing fleets

Re: After Action Report: Noble Armada

I've realised that's what I did wrong. The galliot went directly at the target and missed with the forward grapple. It continued to move and I didn't even think of firing the port, starboard (or even BOTH!) grapples. would have made a big difference to the battle The ship's captain has been executed...

Re: After Action Report: Noble Armada

The Soviet/Decados fleet were deployed near the planet and moved out to meet the advancing Royal Navy/Hawkwood force. (Due to limited space I use centimetres instead of inches so the board may look very crowded. I now see that I should have done close up photos instead of trying to give an overview....

After Action Report: Noble Armada (now with Carrier Crash)

OK, following on from the recent battle at Barsoom, both the Soviets (represented again by Decados) and the Royal Navy (Hawkwood) send carrier forces to the turbulent planet Stormcloud. At first I worked up two fleets at roughly 500 points each. However the carrier potions of these fleets still only...

Re: Noble Armada: Hazat

Hmm, with a fleet based around a Trafalgar, I would say Immortals. However, I wouild back them up with Escorts and Galliots! After recent battle I agree with the Immortals, but galliots? going rigth off them :). Miss with the flipping grapple guns and they keep going past their targets, by the time...

Re: Noble Armada: Hazat

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to go for a Trafalgar carrying a mix of fighters and Immortals I'm using the Hazat as the French fleet, originally I had the Hazat lined up to be the Japanese but decided the Kurgan were a better match (their martyr fighters will make excellent kamikazes!) and then ...

Noble Armada: Hazat

I'd like some opinions plase. At some point in the future I'm planning on purchasing a small Hazat squadron based around a Trafalgar class carrier. I would like opinions on which is a better option for boarding actions 1. 6 x Immortal Boarding Shuttles, 2 troops each, no grappling roll needed, may r...

Noble Armada: easier to hit big ships?

A thought crossed my mind. At the moment large ships (higher hulls) are harder to hit as well as mounting more powerful weapons. I wondered about reversing this to make smaller ships harder to hit instead. In the RAW your attack die has to equal or exceed a ship’s hull score to hit, then you roll fo...

I've toyed with the idea of the Droyne/Ancients visiting in historic/prehistoric times and that our image of the devil as winged and scaley comes from them
