I'm pretty sure that in CT a Quadrant was another name for a Sector for example the Ustral Quadrant is a sector adjacent to the Dark Nebula sector. A group of 4 subsectors did not have a special name since they were not an administrative or government grouping used by the Imperium. Nah. In CT there...

Quadrants were introduced in T20. Quadrants are four subsectors, or one quarter of a sector. While quadrants can be any set of four subsectors, the intended arrangements are: Quadrant Alpha: Subsectors A, B, E, F Quadrant Beta: Subsectors C, D, G, H Quadrant Gamma: Subsectors I, J, M, N Quadrant Del...

I voted for the Hivers. I really enjoy them, especially the totally nutso version done by Nilsen for TNE. And, as other said, I would very much want to see the Ithklur, Gurvin, and whatever other associated races (including MHR and subject Solomani) to be included, too. In other words, I want it to ...

The size of the world listed in the UWP is in 1000's of miles in diameter, not radius. (p.170) :P I'm sure you mean Kilometers right? No, miles. He is right. The UWP size number is in 1000s of miles in diameter. As for the 100D limit, Traveller is completely schitzo on it. They specifically state t...

Nope. Hefry is pretty much just a UWP in any of the sources.

"Ni" means "non-industrial". The intent is that the world cannot provide its own industrial capacity and must use imports to make up the difference. The UWP qualification is simply a population of 6 or less.

daryen - nice! "The world can't be a utopia: it's got people on it." NIce! Thanks! :) Now. How are the locals going to be stupid? :? Well, with as nasty a weather as you are giving them, they don't need to be all that stupid, honestly. But, let's play on it. There is the code duello mentioned by ru...

Lazy works as well as stupid.

BTW, that "7" is the hydrographics, not the atmosphere. The atmosphere is the second "8". So, it has a dense, untainted atmosphere with 70-79% water coverage.

Well, a couple of things. First, with a dense atmosphere, you get more extreme weather. That alone can make life more miserable for the hardscrabble inhabitants. Just run with that, if you want. Second, the participatory democracy is just asking for abuse. A full democracy like that only works well ...

A "living" setting ...

I have a "support" question ... One of the things I liked about the old CT and JTAS in the "good ole days" was the TNS entries. They added an element to the background that gave it some "life" and helped make it feel far less static and morbund. So, does Mongoose have any plans to do something simil...

So ... in this case I will have to wait until they do a second, revised printing to buy it. Well, I wouldn't let these mistakes deter anyone from buying it. They just aren't that significant and are completely obvious. The real value of the book is the text, not the UWPs, anyway. It is just a treme...

Um, where are they missing? My copy of SM has all of the above in it. Could you have gotten a misprinted copy? They aren't missing from the book, they are missing from the Imperium . My point is that the worlds in the Rhylanor subsector (and the four worlds I mention from the Sword Worlds subsector...

Well, while you are screaming, can you put the Rhylanor subsector back into the Imperium when you do the updates for the PDF version? Oh? I hadn't notcied that... Yeah. They missed Flammarion, Caladbolg, Gunn, and Caliburn (the Imperial worlds in the Sword Worlds subsector), too. And Zircon can't b...

BTW, I noticed some UWP errors in the last-minute additions (i.e. not Martin's fault). Do I post these on the thread here, or should I email it somewhere? (Or is it all irrelevant?) These are outright errors, not Andor/Andory. (I have a short list of those, too, but I figure no one actually cares ab...

Really, it isn't necessary. Just make the stuff up on the spot. It really doesn't matter. Unless you want it to matter. But, it is little things like this that can and do matter. I play with a couple of mechanics, and I'm a pilot by profession. If I make a ruling along those lines, they will rememb...

What Fifth Frontier War!?

It is only 1105. The last war I know of is the incredibly short Fourth Frontier War which ended back in 1084.

Are you trying to tell me war is about to break out!?
