Re: Book X and Supplement X - Comments Wanted!

I would like to see: 1) A sort of "Fire fusion and steel book" with all the rules for build vehicles, ships, and also for personal weapons and armors and so, all together. Seconded. And please have it written by David Pulver. Or maybe even by Greg Porter. Or by both of them! 2) A new setting based ...

Re: Detailed World and System Generation

... I'd go with TNE for extended system generation for now. It got star types closer to right than Mega did. Did you get to see the Excel Worksheet Brett Evil made for GURPS Space 4th Edition? AFAIK, this is the most advanced tool of the type available, even if the author was dissatisfied with some...

Re: Detailed World and System Generation

GypsyComet wrote: The basics of extended system generation (star, orbits, etc) are also in TNE, though that version lacks all the exhaustive planetary detailing (temps, tilts, etc).
TNE does include such details ( World Tamer's Handbook, GDW 311, pp. 83-87).

Re: Measurement

Ah - good call G. K. Zhukov ... except 2 x 6.75 is 13.5 ;) Which is exactly what I meant to say - sorry for not being able to properly convey the idea. :? I think it would have made much more sense to use cubic metres as the unit of volume. Too late for that. Traveller's assumptions are suppo...

Re: Measurement

In short : 1 dton = 13.5 cubic meters (dimensions : 1.5 x 1.5 x 3 meters) :D Well... No. In fact, if you perform the math you will see that 1.5 x 1.5 x 3 = 6.75 meters, which is HALF of a displacement ton in the Traveller canon. So when you are designing a starship you will need TWO of those...

Re: MGT Ghost Ships

Can someone tell what I have and more importantly how do I get the file to work? :| Looks like it is a MapTool campaign file (MapTool is a part of the RP Tools freeware suite of roleplaying aids). You should head over to this link , install the app, execute it and use it to open the file (that shou...

The GZG UNSC Hardsuit Marines look like a good fit for Imperial Marines - how do the 2 ranges compare? http://dropshiphorizon.blogspot.com/2011/08/ventaurans-have-landed.html I couldn't see the 15mm ventaurans on Eureka's website either, are they available for general release yet? You need to selec...

I think (from the player/potential buyer perspective) this is most unfortunate. By insisting time and again on the same settings instead of fleshing out new stretches of the OTU we only get contradictions and canon will become even more messed up. We are talking about a rules-free, setting-only book...

Reddish Marines

This is the box cover of the 25mm Grenadier minis I was referring to: http://www.travellerbibliography.org/grenadier/1001.html And here is a nice pic (from QLI's T20) with some Imperial Marines on patrol, with some Intrepid / Trepida grav tanks hovering below them. http://www.travellerrpg.com/CotI/...

I'm curious where the fact that the Imperial Marines uniform is maroon came from. In the Imperial Encyclopedia (MegaTraveller) it says the starburst insignia on marine uniforms is maroon. Is there some resource I don't have access to that delineates out uniform colors? Several illustrations from th...

N is connected to the starship combat of the universe.

The fictional universe begins with another letter (two actually).

Actually, I'm quite thrilled that SW is getting a license for Space 1889. (Speaking of which, I played Deadlands Reloaded at a local mini-con last weekend and had a GREAT time. I played a pre-genned Huckster from New Orleans, so I got to lay the faux-Cajun accent on really thick, mon enfants. ) Tha...
