Re: Fleet Combat/Quite-A-Lot-Of-Credits-Squadron Game?

Two thoughts regarding sandcasters: 1) Perhaps they’re not ignored, but assumed to always be used and thus integrated into laser damage? A 1D beam laser deals 3.5 damage on average, while burst lasers average 7. A single sandcaster canister removes 3.5 laser damage. Round down for sand and up for la...

Re: Fleet Combat/Quite-A-Lot-Of-Credits-Squadron Game?

First off, thanks for creating this thread, I’m following it with great interest! I’ve been meaning to take a detailed look at fleet battles several times but never quite gotten around to it, so this is a perfect time for me! The suggested setup of destroyer escorts and Gazelles vs 6x Halaheike soun...

Re: Naval Campaign Book questions

I don’t have the book available right now, but could it be that the DM +2 for picking an A-team refers to the team and their checks rather than those of the ship?

Re: Behind the Claw

If i land in the spinal tunnel how do i see the band playing me in? Through the viewport? The tunnel leads into a cavernous hangar with enough space for both your shuttle and the band. Besides, why worry about there being enough docking space available at the starport when your own ship basically i...

Re: Behind the Claw

Imagine touring charted space in that - quite the adventure! Until you gotta pay for everything.... :) If you have to ask, you can't afford it... I know :( But hey, a man can dream, right? Isn’t that even one if the reasons we play these games, so we can go anywhere, be anyone and all that :)

Ah yes, the converted Geonetti. The yacht I'd design for myself.....
I can see why :)

Re: Behind the Claw

What playable aliens are in it? Mind if I get back to you on that when we do the previews? It is a Big List! I can tell you that Dolphins are one such playable race and they have an equipment list that includes, among other things, anti-grav Battle Dress with under-fin missiles :) Hm, I couldn’t he...

Dolphin equipment questions

Greetings, I’ve got a couple of thoughts and questions about dolphins and their gear (featured in Behind the Claw) 1. is it safe to assume that both travel suit and battledress have power and grav flight endurance similar to life support (12 or 48 hours depending on TL)? 2. Are the suits as capable ...

Among other things I liked the introduction of jump bridges. Hard to imagine a lonelier duty station....
True, sounds interesting but I haven’t quite found the time to read about them or how they work yet. Seems very useful though!

Re: Behind the Claw

I will say that overall, it's an excellent product. Lots of very nice artwork and tons (dtons?) of material. I highly recommend its purchase. I agree 100%! From what I’ve seen so far it feels like a perfect introduction to the setting, with flavorful descriptions, beautiful artwork and loads of use...

Re: Deepnight Revelation

Better tell Deepknight Revelation crew to keep watch behind them. A jump-capable scout moving a couple of jumps ahead, and another behind, might be desirable. Good thing they brought a bunch 1) Which book is that from? 2) Links are impossible to see in this forum. I didn't even realise it was a lin...

Re: Behind the Claw

The files are certainly big enough. Giving my ipad pro a workout. I mostly read on my phone these days, and I’ve noticed that the builtin iBooks app gets worse with each iOS update... books that o could read without trouble before are much slower to load now. Same device, same file, just new versio...

Re: MgT2 skill-level philosophy ???

Take a look at p.56 in the core book, especially the part about task checks. The referee should only call for checks when: ● The Travellers are in danger. ● The task is especially difficult or hazardous. ● The Travellers are under the pressure of time. ● Success or failure is especially important or...
