Re: D20 advanced class

Mother Magri & Shasarak in Grey Star 1 & 2 had strong powers to do with sleep and dreams, you could come up with a sleepwalking hypnotic-type spell/power making a sleeping victim become your 'zombie' and obey your commands (Tanith had to steal the Kazim Stone back from Grey Star at Mother Magri's bi...

Re: Darklands Character Classes

would the Darklords have known about Agarash's runes? I think you can almost certainly bank on it. In fact not only will they have heard of them but, whilst in the process of doing everything else, have been actively searching for them along with any rumours of other Naar artefacts - real or not. T...

Re: Lone Wolf atmosphere.

I like the riddles and most of the number puzzles in LW. However, I still cannot get the puzzles to close the Shadow Gate in Book 16. I know someone explained it before, I forgot and I still have no idea how to do it. :( SPOLIER I think I saw once someone put a different explanation to the solution...

Re: Mongoose vs. original equipment

I just cannot understand the differences between original and Mongoose Equipment of the various books, can anyone help me? Anyway, the alternative rules are quite intriguing, I'll try and use them next time I read the books. :) Sorry for the delay only just saw this. Still working on rule variation...

Well I only have Book 1 of each, nice though they are.

Re: Lone Wolf gets coverage on Beasts of War

Cringed a fair amount to start with but it improved in the second half. Interesting their thoughts about it working best with a small group, liked the summing up of the Combat Results Table and the comment about seeing what you can get away with IS the essence of Roleplaying  - glad I watched ...

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

Spoiler. ... As for the Jewelled Mace. I've always thought that Dhorgaan bonus should really be a '+5CS Vs Spirits' kind of thing. Not just Undead but Ethereal creatures of magical origin. So it would apply against Gnaag's Mind Reaper in Bk 12, Pechdrazil Bk 13, Oudakon Bk 7, Vortexi Bk 16, Shadow R...

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

In another topic (Instant death Random Numbers/Bk16) I suggested the Crystal Star, as a Talisman of Good Fortune, gives one free re-roll per adventure and August agreed.

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

Now, I'm working on the edition of LW18, thus, if you have other pertinent queries regarding this other book... What like "Why is the Talisman of Ishir a Backpack Item and not a Special Item seeing as you probably should be wearing it like Crystal Star Pendant, Platinum Amulet, Jadin Amulet..." :wi...

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

Zorkaan. You lucky, lucky guy working with Joe. Don't beat yourself up about Ixiataaga - it never definitively stated in black and white that he, it, IS Undead. Every point you raised was intelligent, well thought out and plausable, not to mention researched. I am so pleased that this clarification ...

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

I like the 'everyone is right' idea. So Ixiataaga could very well be a living entity when Agarash makes him a Lieutenant and the very power Ixiataaga is granted corrupts and warps him into the (essentially) Undead being he is now. Dare I say a bit like the corruption of the One Ring. Would also expl...

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

Thanks for the compliment but I think it was you, Zorkaan, who said Ixiataaga was a kind of Demi-god, I just agreed that he was at that level of power.

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

The thing is, with Kekataag the Avenger being Undead it isn't inconceivable for Naar to have another champion that is also Undead. I've always thought of Ixiataaga as a bit of a wildcard anyway following his own agenda/enslaving ALL living creatures - drakkarim & lencian alike. I like the fact that ...

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

I wrote the bonus adventure for Book 17. It should be an interesting one as well ;) *Excited* I like the Mongoose cover for Bk17, although I could be convinced that Ixiataaga is a demonic kind of opponent by those wonderful twisted horns. So I'll stick with Ixiataaga = Undead. As for reducing the s...

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

The Darklords 'breathe' therfore they cannot be Undead. That is the reason why they turned the Darklands into wasteland and that is why they are so weak outside the Darklands. They are not Undead.

Re: Will Mongoose be fixing Book 17 ?

No I don't think the Darklords are Undead, the Spirit of Vashna trapped in Maakengotge perhaps but not the other 19. For what it is worth I don't think of them as demons either. If nothing else at no point using the Sommerswerd are you told you inflict double damage against any Darklord.
