Re: Core Rule Book Version 2 - very well done Mongoose!

This is what I've been waiting for. I just couldn't tackle a PDF of that size, I need to see the book in its entirity to understand how all the rules fit together. Now, I just need some spare cash in order to buy it... I'm really looking forward to having this gorgeous looking book to peruse.

Ah sorry Ian, didn't see that ... it is a beautiful rendering (as always) - but the Traveller design is just like a rock!

Re: Ugliest Starship

I came to post my views on the yacht, Jame, and you did do a decent job with it, but it's no good ... it's a horrible blob! I did a bit of tinkering with the safari ship and also the Type T crusier, both are beautiful designs and would certainly grace the hanger of a noble. I tend to think of yachts...

Re: If only Traveller had these kind of dice

Now they are very nice dice, but I think they will certainly take a bit of getting used too. They do look like they are a prop from an SF movie, and on that basis, I want a pair...

Re: Planetary launch

No, Traveller is not hard sci-fi. From what I know, the closest you can get to it in the Traveller ruleset is Zozer's excellent Orbital. http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/109160/Orbital?src=hottest_filtered Thanks for the mention Hiro... I agree that Traveller is not hard SF, but there is very li...

Re: Orbital System Data

As the developer of Orbital I'd just like to make it clear that Tom's work here is his own adaptation of the material found within my game. Like all good referees he has developed, added too and in some cases totally changed the material found in the original ruleset. All power to him! But I don't t...

Re: Licencing of Real World Products

Ewan, its a Traveller game book aimed at children and teenagers. For several reasons, Traveller is a great ruleset for use with children. I've run an RPG Club at a primary school for 15 years now, and my most popular setting has been the current project. It can be played with adults, or children, or...

Subcompact, never heard that term in the UK.

I'm over Pluto now, she's a dwarf planet. Can't wait to see what's there... even moons hold amazing secrets, I sure as hell hope this is like that, and not just a barren ice ball.

Re: Licencing of Real World Products

I will go generic and make up 3 or 4 different vehicles based on real world equivalents. It is modern day, but with a SF twist.

Re: Licencing of Real World Products

I thought it might be so, I heard XBoX games use alternate gun and car names to avoid paying copyright costs. Its certainly no big issue for me, best be cautious!

Licencing of Real World Products

I'm currently writing a Traveller book for Zozer Games that includes a few modern day vehicles. Does anyone know my position legally if I mention brand names, and how about statting something like a Land Rover out? I'm just not sure at all where the blurry line is ....
