Re: [Zozer Games] Orbital 2100

Orbital 2100 is available as a nice softcover book through Lulu, for various reasons I can't offer a PDF / Softcover bundle through Drivethru RPG.

There is a pretty comprehensive review on the follow blog post, if you wanted to look into it more deeply:

[Zozer Games] Dinosaurs, Time Travel and the Traveller rules

Dinosaurs statted out for Traveller, at last! Camp Cretaceous is a time travel setting that I've used many times to introduce roleplaying to children, both my two sons and in a school RPG club. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/lord_mithras/image_zps6tvpmk7s.jpeg http://www.drivethrurpg.com/pro...

Re: [Zozer Games] Orbital 2100

You would need nuclear reactors to manufacture chemical fuel in any case, those unfolding solar panels would only work in the inner solar system. I urge you to buy a copy of Orbital, Tom, many of your suggestions and ideas are already there, using Traveller rules. The ORVIN is an Oxygen Recovery In...

Re: [Zozer Games] Orbital 2100

... this ship gets around of methane burning chemical rocket engines, the main secret of its range is it gets refueled frequently. That is TL 8 technology Tom, and you won't realistically get a Solar System teeming with colonies using only chemical rockets of that type. That is why all of the curre...

Re: [Zozer Games] Orbital 2100

There is water/ice all over the solar system, so you don't have to carry all your fuel, just enough to get to your destination. Even if you go to Venus, you could process some of the trace gasses in the atmosphere for fuel. Traveller's idea that water/ice is very rare is completely wrong. Ice/Water...

Re: [Zozer Games] Orbital 2100

It is a bit misleading to treat Europa as if it has 100% hydrographics, but in a sense it does, it is a vacuum world with 100% hydrographics with a solid surface that you can land on. So what do you think does a frozen water world with no atmosphere have 100% hydrographics of 0%?. Tom, Orbital does...

I've got no plans to do that Tom, but I would be interested in seeing it represented in Traveller stats, if you want to give it a go.

Re: [Zozer Games] Orbital 2100

Sol666, what is your solo game? By that I mean, what rules set-up or campaign method do you follow to resolve missions/events and adjudicate them? As a solo player (ever since my boys grew up a few years ago and stopped Travelling, anyway!) I have experimented with a couple of approaches. One I docu...

Re: [Zozer Games] Orbital 2100

Hi, I watched The Expanse for the first time a couple of months ago and in many ways it screamed 'Orbital' to me! Only The Expanse has a darker edge to it, with endemic corruption and exploitation. Orbital is a more optimistic future, but that dark edge is all in the referee's presentation, really. ...

Re: [Zozer Games] Orbital - Update

The new edition of Orbital, Orbital 2100, will soon be available in PDF and in softback. Hot on its heels will be a hard-SF exploration scenario showcasing what Orbital is and how it can be played. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/lord_mithras/SciFi/far-horizon-scenario4_zpsjqysbcll.jpg FAR HO...

Re: [Zozer Games] Orbital - Update

I am definately going to use FTL and wormholes and generation ships, but the link you posted Tom has no use of player characters, and so I can't think of how that particular way of travelling would feature productively in an RPG. It is a fascinating concept, however...just not very 'gameable'.

[Zozer Games] Orbital - Update

Hi! Zozer Games is working on an update of its very hard-SF Traveller varient called Orbital. http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/109160/Orbital Crucial to the update and rewrite is compatability with Cepheus Engine, a Traveller OGL product, but it means the game will still be able to be used in con...

Re: Mgt2 200 ton Frontier Trader

There must be something wrong with my brain, but I fall asleep when reading discussions about pintles and spinal mounts, armour values and drive sizes... but I absolutely live talking about cargo loading techniques. :0 And no, I've never driven a forklift. I guess its a really practical discussion. ...

Re: Mgt2 200 ton Frontier Trader

Nice animation. The tail-sitter means it's not as convenient to load as something along the lines of a free trader, with it's cargo deck closer to the ground. Other than, things look very interesting. A cargo crane is mentioned in the description, which in my mind would be an industrial side-loading...

Inspired by 2001's Clavius Lunar Shuttle??
On cargo, perhaps turn to aircraft hulls which are also circular, but employ angled or form fitting cargo containers or Unit Load Devices: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_lo ... ection.jpg

Re: Low passage

The answer lies in the way that MgT takes the same survival chances as classic Traveller, and they were written in by Marc Miller who took them or was inspired by the Dumarest (?) books. There the shipless hero traverses the universes by low berth - it was cheap but dangerous. It was a plot device, ...

Re: Sword Worlders

I would run with uofficial piracy and raiding. Semi-legal traders who raid and steal from outposts when they see an opportunity, despite assurances from the Confederation that they are doing everything they can to stop the problem. Like Somali pirates raiding the Kenyan coastline, kidnapping people ...
