Re: MRQ Wiki - new

What's the situation with the Wiki now MRQ2 is Legend? The wiki has not changed. Just like if there was an AHRQ3 Wiki, it could still continue to exist despite the demise of that particular edition. MRQ2 still exists, I have a copy on the desk next to me and I am still running it with my gaming gro...

Re: Sorcery Spells for Courtly Intrigues

I had a Krarshti Courtesan/Assassin NPC who traded for Erotocomatose Lucidity and had Acid Touch (I think that's what it was called in RQ3), she cast both spells at an opportune moment and just waited for the victim to dissolve in her arms.. So she ends up covered in wet, yucky, highly corrosive hu...

Re: Sorcery Spells for Courtly Intrigues

One neat trick with subject-specific illusions is that Phantom Touch can actually make physical objects that are only real for that person - everyone laughed at the trickster with the Hallucinate spell until he conjured a magic ladder that only he could climb and escaped from the wolf pack that eve...

Not Uleria! That's Gorgorma you're thinking of.

Re: Spirit Magic for Legend

Well presumably Mongoose could easily make them OGL if they wished by extracting them as a PDF and adding the OGL on the end. It's probably more likely that at some point there'll be a product which goes into more depth - Spirits of Legend perhaps. You can't make someone else's material OGL without...

Re: Multiple Professions

Just to keep things quick and simple, I'd say no - and I don't like saying "no", but there are plenty of Free Skill Points to customise a character in this way. That's what they are for.

Re: Forum Name Changes?

That would appear to abandon existing published materials. How does changing a forum name abandon anything? If the name was printed in any RQ2 stuff, it would be "RuneQuest II" not "RuneQuest II/Legend", so changing it to "Legend (formerly RuneQuest II)" or some such would not "abandon" anything. M...

Most players don't want to play that level of absolute loyalty though.

Re: New(?) Monster

And don't forget, it's a Dungeon Crawl, it's supposed to be a challenge and a bit of fun. It doesn't have to be overly deep and meaningful! Of course. I'm not here to spoil anyone's fun. But there is a long tradition of using the parts of magical creatures as the ingredients in magical processes, I...

Re: New(?) Monster

As a last thought, don't let your players talk you into allowing a Kruha-hide cloak! :D Not on your life! Once the creature dies, so too does the magic! Nonetheless, if such a magical ability is possible, then it is implausible that this creature is the only thing that can do it. Does the creature ...

Re: Magic of Legend

What's up with the notion that, "low magic = useless magic", idea? ... If you make a "magic sucks" setting, don't confuse it with low-magic. Absolutely. Divine Magic: Magnitude is now 1/20% pact skill How does doubling the cost to acquire or advance divine magic fit in with your earlier sentiment?

Re: Magic of Legend

On the general subject of a "low magic campaign", I don't think that this can be achieved by any "nuclear option" of just making magic so hard that it isn't worth having. Magic can be rare because it is rare, that's ok. You could charge Free Skill points for them, have them being cult or guild secre...

Re: Magic of Legend

Well voila, a Low-Magic Campaign  . No, I see your point, though there might be setting-specific reasons for taking magic anyways, i.e. you can only harm certain evil creatures with Disruption or a Bladesharp weapon. That way the player who invests his IRs into magic skills is rewarded by occ...
