Character creation spreadsheet

Calculates derived attributes, and has columns for adding up skill levels. For Advanced Skills, anything entered in the "Cltr" (Culture) column, even a 0, makes the skill "active" and the values are then summed up, so Advanced Skills that you don't have yet will remain blank. I think I've got all th...

However my reading of the rules of Runequest II don't see any mention of "common" divine magic. I don't remember seeing it either. I just searched the PDF for the word "common" in the Divine Magic and Cults chapters, and it's never used in that context, only in the sense of "Common Magic" or in the...

Re: Choosing Divine Spells

My question: how does an adventurer select their Divine spells? On page 117 of the corebook, the Edric's Saga section says: "As an Orlanth the Dragon initiate, Edric learns Dismiss Elemental, Mindlink, Soul Sight and Channel Strength." If I go to the Orlanth the Dragon cult (page 152), it says "Div...

Extension doesn't affect Common magic - oh, you mean extend the Amplify so your common magic casting is always boosted? Yes, that works well. Shame there is no Fly spell in the basic rules, really, but I'm sure that's coming in a cults expansion.

Extension

Extension seems a little overpowered to me - who could pass up permanent Sureshot or permanent TrueSword? My trickster would definitely have wanted to cast Extension and Laughter - just you keep on laughing until I remember to drop and renew the spell in a few weeks time. Shame he was executed for s...

Is there even a need to roll anything? I come from RQ 3, where there is no check at all...when you lose a given number of hp in a location, you suffer the consequences. Well, no, you can house-rule that rule if you like. I like the roll, though. It gives the players another way to be that little bi...

The important thing is that it not be a straight unopposed roll. Why not, though? Because high-level characters will automatically beat it How about just rolling against a notional successful roll of 50, or the GM rolling against the universe's 100% chance to hit (without fumbles or auto-fails) and...

Hm, good point, Resilience doesn't scale up at the same rate as Hit Points. Something that is proportional to the location hit points would be "better" but is a big step up in complexity.

The reservation that I have is that it's not very random, and once you go over 3d6 it becomes "you need to crit". Maybe that's ok, you probably do need something special to take a 10m-drop anvil to the head and shrug it off. I don't know what Harrek's Resilience is, but I'm guessing that many of his...

Possession

So what prevents a spirit from attempting possession once per round until it wins?

Speedart - progressive?

Speedart does not say "progressive" but the text clearly implies that it should be. Is this a tyop?
