Anyone remember the old old scenario for WH40k where a group of troubleshooters were testing a teleporter and accidentally ended up in an Ork basein the 40k universe? They pretty much had the stats of Imperial Guard, with a few crazy rules on both sides. That was what, WD90 or something? Issue 112,...

Given the Traveller rules are getting a re-write/re-jig, then I'm certain the same will apply to all the supplements to follow. Calling the book 'High Guard' simply plays on the familiarity (some have) with the originals. Given Gareth H. is hard at work still writing the core rules, I think we can o...

I think gran-orco means a table to determine the location where you would apply the fall damage (i.e. left leg, head, etc.). I guess the whole thing depends on how you fall and where. If you fall from a height straight down to the ground, you can probably make a single roll on a suitable hit locatio...

Traveller Character Generation could very well represent a soul-destroying single-player activity. Tunnels & Trolls, as previously mentioned, positively recommends the prospects of a little solo fun. Given the way Lone Wolf allows you to effectively take experience forward, you could consider that i...

There are certainly several missions in print that head Outside (and one supplement that goes Under-side). Not to usher you off elsewhere, but you may want to seek feedback at Paranoia-Live , where many, many fans of PARANOIA hang out... some of whom will no doubt have had experiences beyond the per...

Not sure what you're after bumping this topic, abe? You really need to try and come up with your own view of whether something works or how to rate it, simply by playing. If you come up with a mutant power, try it on someone. If it works too well, nobble it and give it another drawback. If it doesn'...

So, the answer is either follow the rules as they stand (i.e. hurting yourself isn't treasonous, because the rules say you only get Treason tokens for damaging others) or make up a house rule and make all damage to property of The Computer a treasonous act.

I prefer the fill up to hand-size keeping existing cards - or just be stuck with your existing cards if already equal to hand-size. If you're stuck with a hand of cards, they're either odd, inappropriate or you're a hoarder... and it seems appropriate your Troubleshooter will go up against each new ...

Personally, the Asbestos Armor was never intended to be effective for very long. My personal experience of asbestos has been of something crumbly and fragile, that tends to break-up very easily (usually when builders are engaged in demolition of an old school or hospital without adequate safety prec...

Re: Paranoia Mandatory Card Game Questions

We've noticed that losing clones has no effect on who wins (other than the first troubleshooter to lose their last clone is demoted one security clearance). This seems a silly concept since the punishment for treason is termination not demotion. Surviving (staying loyal and not dying) is not reward...

Something like Asbestos Armor or Gelgernine provide a temporary means of defence, but if you have, say, six Troubleshooters in a team, that's at least half a dozen cards between one Turn and the next. That's enough to end a clone's life or weigh them down with Treason Tokens, leaving them vulnerable...

This does bring up an interesting question: if the Mission requirements have been completed, but the Team Leader hasn't had a chance to end the mission (for example, 3 wounds are given to the mission, but the TB that gave the last wound was his last card), is the mission successful? Yes - in that i...

Correct. If a Troubleshooter dies and a moment later the Team Leader ends the mission, then that Troubleshooters clone neither receives rewards nor suffers for his Treasons.

Failure means you didn't Succeed. :D OK... If a card has a clearly stated Mission Failure, that's the failure condition. If the Mission only has a stated Success, then ending the mission before achieving Success would be a failure (e.g. a Troubleshooter expends his entire hand before the Team achiev...

The Bribe card is very specific - and thankfully I only found two of them in my box! The Play Anytime text reads: Cancel the card just played. You may put it in your hand. So, if Troubleshooter A plays Hand Flamer on Troubleshooter B, Troubleshooter B could cancel it with Bribe . If Troubleshooter C...

Yes - the second one.

Surviving a mission by losing a Clone isn't really going to make your life easier though... but sometimes, it works!
