Re: Elric RPG and resisting potions.
I see exactly what you are saying BigOrc but JWPacker has made my point for me. When statting the snake I would take into account the things you refer to before setting it's poison potency.

Re: Elric RPG and resisting potions.
I would go for option 2 in the case you describe. I think that potions can vary in their strength and potency. A snake venom of potency 50%, however, i would regard as a constant and automatically assume it to have taken effect. Only the victims opposed resilience roll is required. Not sure if I'm p...

Re: Slaine Reborn?
My initial reaction to a Slaine reboot for Mrq2 was negative, to say the least. However, In retrospect and having now played Mrq2/Legend, I can safely say that I have changed my mind. Please do a Legend reboot of Slaine. :D The combat system will lend itself perfectly to this setting and will allow ...

Re: Legend still seems to be doing well....
I'm glad that Legend is selling well. I have not yet picked up a copy and, unfortunately, will not be doing so in the near future. The reason is that there are other company's that are releasing such really good stuff at present that even though it's only a tenner, it's a tenner out of my, now somewh...

Re: Have A Legendary New Year, People!
Congrats on the new addition to your family. I've been checking mail at silly o'clock for about three years now. Here's to hoping my littlest daughter will finally settle in the next few weeks and I can get back to semi- regular gaming and posting...

Hyborian age Picts
I was reading through this months copy of Wargames Illustrated when i came across an article about Commanches. One line in the article refers to Wichita warriors who would occasionally accompany the Commanches on raids. These were referred to colloquially as Pawnee Picts by the Texicans. I imagine t...

Re: (Conan) Free companies question
I don't know about the 2ed rulebook, but the 1st edition gave numbers of troops of each type in the Hyborian Gazeteer contained within. I simply did the math using the info from both sources. It wasn't entirely satisfactory IMO but it did the job.

Re: Elric questions
Yeah, they are all worth picking up. the companion has another great adventure in it as well as loads of npc's and a battle scale combat system. There's ship stats, some basic insanity rules and loads of new creatures as well. Some of it has made the 2Ed rulebook but there is still enough to merit b...

Re: [CONAN] Keeping Low Level Characters Alive
You are quite right about not being able to approach the game like vanilla DnD. That's a sure fire way to get your character killed. I think the most important thing is for both players and GM to appreciate this. There's no point in players playing 'sensibly' if the Gm doesn't have the feel for the ...

Re: Elric questions
Perry, It's definitely worth picking up both of those books. There's a load of stuff in both that hasn't made it to 2Ed. In 'magic', there's a large section on enchantments and grimoires with a plethora of examples. They are completely original and not rehashes of the stuff from the old Chaosium 'br...

Is the game with sentient barges the game that Akrasia was writing the journal for? Still waiting for updates on his site.

Session 5 The Dharijorian pirate captain gets rip roaringly drunk as the night progresses. Tarfis returns to the table where half of the men are singing a Bawdy sea shanty about a Tarkeshite's daughter. Only Madoc, the first mate, is paying any heed to the goings on in the rest of the tavern's commo...

Re: Vilmirian Navy
As I said before Dansk, there's a lot of fun to be had in attempting to rationalise the seemingly random.
Did I mention that if I was one of MM's deities, I would probably be Arkyn the Meticulous.

Re: Vilmirian Navy
Sentient battle barges do sound like a fun idea. :D However, what do you guys think that all those slaves do when they are not chained to the oars? Are they normally the house slaves etc, or do they come from a different pool? How many hundreds of thousands of slaves must there be to be able to crew...
