Re: Re:

custom set up & mods That's the kicker right there. Doesn't really matter what the system is, in a Traveller context. The hardware and software could have started out bog standard Vilani with a tech spec three thousand years old, but if the local admins have a clue and a tradition of dealing with s...

Re: high tech vs low tech hacking

Computer rating acts as a limiter on the software rating, so a sufficiently advanced computer running a equally advanced intrusion program will overpower a less advanced computer. Funny thing tho is that Traveller have the security software effect increase by 2 at each increment (0,-2,-4,-6) while t...

i take it then that rogue is there for the times when you pull of a action that makes cloak fail and that the server, alltho able to see you, cant direct the ice your way automaticly. it can only inform them to be on the look-out for your deva.

ugh, needs to do some tactical rethinks then ;)

err, im not refering to the texts with blue background. im refering to the text on page 230 and 231 labeld examples. these are specificly written to help people understand how the net rules work but fail to do so as they contradict how the diffrent programs are described in the rest of the text. i g...

ogl cybernet: contradictions in web chapter...

i keep banging my head against the web chapter, at one level its the most simple take on the web there is in that it uses the same basic rules but speed things up in comparison to real space. but there is a bad contradiction or two between one of the examples and the description of one of the apps. ...

hmm, the term grit allways gets comboed with lethal and detailed damage systems when talking about cyberpunk style game. grit can come into being without the pc's risking death around every corner. its allso about hanging in there when every part of your mind, body and spirit tells you that no matte...

do ogl cybernet have the cyberpunk feel?

why im asking is that there is some traffic on the cyberpunk 2020 board on talsorian.com about d20 only being good for epic storytelling and its like. looks like some people compare cyberpunk to lethality and pc bodycount (ie if a pc dont die pr game then its not cyberpunk or some **** like that).

you have the advanced character class known as the celebrity. have the "rockerboy" start out as any class but pick up some perform skill (and dimplomacy or bluff) on the side (no base class have perform as a skill class however). and then when they hit 6 ranks in perform (and diplomacy or bluff + th...

sounds like a small firmware mod on most cybereyes or maybe just a setting option :)

unless your talking about doing it with normal eyes, that would require the cyber to patch into the optical nerves and edit the signal somehow. imo cybereyes are easyer as then it just becomes a fluff/style thing...

well august, im used to if i find something in a table in a book or a refrence to it (like say the one that says to check the info on consealability in a diffrent section) in the text then it should allso be in there. if not then the reference or item should not be left in. if the fighter was meant ...

heh, i had a discussion about that ones with someone i know that does weed at times. he said that it would never be the same but i have a feel he will not notice any diffrence if the chip makes the body produce the same reactions as the drug would do. like say chiping a alcohol chip for a party set ...

hmm, isnt realy that hard. i mostly did the basic layout above... most of the items should have a flat self cost rather then a random one and the cyberware tolerant feat should halv that but not lower the end result by one... this is allso a nice explanation for stuff like hip replacements and so on...

recreational/social cyberware?

one thing missing in cybernet (and is mostly glossed over in many others to) is cyberware that not directly have any game effect other then looking cool, say watches and similar stuff that are hidden right under the skin (never loose track of time again) to glowing tattoos and hair that you can mani...
