Seeing as the books mention that Witchers used to take apprentices something close to Dark Heresy might work: the PC's are apprentice Witchers being set tasks by their master. It would explain levelling, parties etc.

The point about Dredd being about pursuit is spot on.

Rather meh about the Planet Mongoose too. Sounds interesting but rather generic. I've been playing the Rebellion Judge Dread game and rather like that. It contains Arcade (one off themed battles) and Campaign (in which you deliver justice whilst trying to stop the Death Judges). Arcade allows fun sk...

Nice summary. On the game contents etc. I think a CD loaded with print-out models is best*. Yes its expensive but there is no way you could fit all the crazy of MC1 or even enough of it, into one game. I'd almost prefer to see Tannhauser style limited number of excellent quality models rounded out w...

The biggest reason to stay away from a big battle game is that would involve far more figures and as pretty much everyone I've heard talking about this has said- the miniatures need to be good. Start small with the pre-existing audience. If it goes well and people demand it then think about branchin...

Making it a full wargame is certainty for fail. Skirmish is absolutely the way to go. MGP has the ability to make decent minis, their GOMC line wasn't bad and some of the earlier SST stuff was OK, its just they really, really need to beef up quality control and hire decent sculptors.* I really like ...

Kudos Matt- that's an excellent way to refocus it. I think the idea of putting you in charge of a squad of Judges is excellent. As all the characters introduced in the comic books are essentially introduced by their conflicts with the judges I think its the best way to go. That also allows you far w...

RPG's were certainly dangerous- many tankies left their gear on the outside and RPG's would lead to them catching fire. For the most part though recoiless rifles were the most scary and as far as I'm aware scored the only (pure) kill in the Thunder Runs. Iraqi tanks were generally no danger because ...

A Dune book for Traveller would be a lot of fun.
Anyone else remember Trinity Battleground with the Bob Naismith minis? Ace idea for a game.

Personally I think that is a very good idea. Release a core rulebook and then add "setting" books

Eisho definately has a point. You see the same with Warzone: sure there was still a massive line available but really, people stopped playing without new releases. Now only a small minority of die hards play the game. I think Matt has it very right when he says that MGP is a gaming company, not a mi...

really keep the scale i know its not common or easyly expandable from outside sources but that makes the mongoose models viable commercially. (assumeing of course some quality) Is it commercially viable? Only reflecting my personal awareness but the scale bombed with a lot of people I know, particu...

There is also the scale, if mongoose sticks to the 1/65 then 1/56 vehicles will prolly look too big, and Co.B is an american company, considering all Customs and shipping fees i think there's room for 2 strykers on the market, just how many Tigers are there for WW2 :D Heh, absolutely. Though it wou...

Model kit or gaming miniature? If its a model, I don't count that. Even so, thats only one company. Besides, you can't argue that its common nor could MGP be competitive. Gaming, but as you say, no reason there can't be competition. The pre-paints issue is a conondrum: some love, some hate, up to M...

do more or less already exist on www.evocommand.com
Yup, I know. I just mean if there is the demand for that (and there obviously is) then MGP should think about building on that and adding to it.

You have some good points however thats to big of a kick in the teeth for me. I mean, I have 3 of the 4 factions, all very very large. Yeah, I know, sucks big time for existing players. Like I said though, I'm convinced MGP will only be able to sell minis by making them 28mm and making them good. C...
