Heh! I've just noticed the book has an Index. Is this just for this book, or an Index for the whole corebook line so far?
Hmm... Would that be useful?
Oh, yes!

Re: New Paizo SF RPG: Competitor with Traveller?

So... after a year and a half, has Starfinder completely destroyed Traveller as competition? Bought the books. Thought with Pathfinder so popular at the local game store Starfinder would have an audience. It very infrequently goes up on the schedule and *chirp chirp*. I put the books away because o...

Re: Traveller Universe vs Star Wars vs Star Trek Tech ?

Does Star Wars really have tech levels? Some planets are more developed than others in terms of population levels, it seems, but they all seem to use the same technology regardless.

Re: Vanguard - The Kickstarter is Live!

I think the psychology of Kickstarters is you need to include low points of entree, in order to build momentum. If you are anything like me, I don't make my final pledge to the very last moment, but you need to have that low point entree to stay informed and engaged.

Could we have an updated release schedule?

Shame about Vanguard, but lessons learned, we may see it again in some other way. But for now, let's focus on what is in the pipeline. Err….like what is in the pipeline?! We know lots of new books and stuff are planned, but when and how and what and whatever, would be something I'd like to know. I'm...

All this looks awesome, and I especially like the spiritual careers. Could add a new dimension to the game.

Still wanting Robot characters, but there is still a huge amount to digest with this.

Re: So, what's with the supplements?

I will look into the PDF prices, but it may be a while before we can do anything there. However, while we are on the subject of 1e books... If we could bring back any 1e book in 2e format right now, which would you like to see? No promises, but if the stars align, I will see what we can do! Well, y...

Re: So, what's with the supplements?

Firstly, and this really does need emphasising, you don't need anything other than the core rules, or the Starter Set, to play Traveller. They are complete, in an off themselves, insofar that you can generate characters, worlds and encounters, and has enough equipment, ships and vehicles to play a f...

Re: Creating "new" characters

We have players generating multiple characters, usually as part of a wider crew on a larger ship (if appropriate) or as contacts. If anyone dies, we simply have them adopt another character.

Re: Wound penalties?

Yes they should do, although we have frequently found that if planned correctly, an ambush tactic with firearms normally wipes out unsuspecting characters quicker than they get a chance to work out adjusting modifiers. It's only where battle armour and defensive strategies are used that combat gets ...

Aslan, Samurai and other allegories

While struggling to pronounce half the Aslan words in my ongoing Pirates of Drinax campaign, it was pointed out by one of my players that it's easiest to do so my imagining you are doing the dialogue in a Japanese Samurai movie. It actually works very well….which got us all looking at the relative p...

Did the Traveller Companion get bumped from the release schedule again? Didn’t see it when I checked just now.
It's not been listed for a while. Probably because the writers don't want to commit to a release timeline, and therefore rush it, rather than anything else. It'll come out in due course.

For the most part, we just use SOC like CHA, and be damned with any official interpretation.
