Re: Yet another Battledress debate

Certainly a set of PA throws off more signature than a person. And dropping into a hole covers most of that. Dirt is great stuff. And of course sensors can be spoofed, or overloaded. Real warfare is dynamic. You do something that works. The other guy not being an idiot does his best to counter that. ...

Re: Yet another Battledress debate

IanW, your arguments against PA are also valid against Infantry in general. You dont need super sensors to pick up troops today. Sure, PA will have extra emisions that can be detected, but you only need to detect somebody once. Many of the advantages of Infantry in general, and PA in particular dont...

I liked a lot of the Gurps traveller suplements. the problem was after I got them, I realized I didnt like GURPS itself.

Re: Traveller 5th Edition

I do agree that MGT has added a lot to many of the products they have redone. 2nd ed 760 patrons is really great, as is CSC. I will use those both for years nomatter what edition is out. I am glad they are redoing things, I never collected the original. I was in college at that time, and each of my ...

Re: Traveller 5th Edition

I would pwehaps have done this but for 2 reasons. 1. MGT already does most of what I want raveller to do, and I bet MM makes a good bit of off the License. So $100 sight unseen by me is not a good bet. 2. I just dumped $100 into Steve Jackson for Ogre 6 kickstart. For many of the reasons CJ23 listed...

Re: Free Epic Campaign - The Pirates of Drinax

So it is now July, a month gone by and no new anything. At this pace mongoose will lose the Traveller license before they finish it. Yes I know it is free. but, I would rather they just went ahead and finished it and sold it. This draging it out forever is a real downer.

OK, which os just what you have on there, only it doesnt show up until you click on it. Did not realize that until the third time I went back there. Looks just right for me.

Just proves you should not post when you first wake up.

Re: Prime Directive Traveller

Jean look at the Spinward Marches cover. Bottum third or quarter Red Traveller on black background. What you have now lloks great, but if I saw it in a store I would pass right by it as there is nothing to tell me it is traveller connected.

Re: Prime Directive Traveller

Hans here is a bit of a military tradition you probably have not heard of. I learned this when I was going through Army ROTC training, just before I dropped out and enlisted, and infact it help me realize I was not going to be a very good officer. One afternoon we spent a couple of hours going over ...

Re: for clarification: Ship Armor at level 12

Take a stock Free trader. The 12 pt armor reduces cargo capacity by 22%, ups total cost 10% and monthly maintenence by 10%. Radiarion shuielding costs no space, but costs 50MCR, which when you consider the ship without it is only 36mcr is a huge increase. More than double your monthly mortgage, and ...

Re: for clarification: Ship Armor at level 12

Okay, I'll buy that for civilian craft. It can get expensive, but you know full-well that PCs are going to want it as an upgrade to their free traders with only 4 points of armor, stock. The Agashaam class destroyer only has four points of armor, as does the Azhanti High Lightning. That just doesn'...

I dont remeber a Swordfish getting the Veneto. But they for sure got another one of the German suckers. Didnt the Brits use a sub to get the Vitorio? Becaause she sure did not come out to do it gun to gun.

Many goverments keep secrets just because they keep secrets. Things tha would not be kept secret until they think somebody may want to know it, so if someboedy wants to know then there must be a reason t keep te secret even if they dnt know what it is. But, the idea that a politician would spill the...

4 worlds are building feets for the 5W, but they wont be in space until 1107. According to the5FW board gam each of the 4 flets has 2 battle squadrons and a cruiser squadrin. So they can put out some serious fire power later. I am looking for ships up to 3000Dtons. Heavier rtha that and we have no c...

Thanks for that one. It seems a lot for only one ship, but evrthing I have ever gotten from Avenger has always been great value, so there has to be more in there tan just one 600DT ship. Yes Sword worlds has a few sip designns, just not very many, and nothing like a SDP. And no numbers on what is av...
