Re: Conan for Legend = perfect match?
The hangup was Licensing. MGP no longer holds the license, and even when they did the licensor held that it was only for ONE game system - since they used it for d20 then RQ was a no go. My purely between the lines speculation not to be taken as fact is this: When the new Conan movie was in the work...

I'm a bit fed up with Mongoose being wise after the event. We had to buy the overpriced slim multi-volume first edition rules because they failed to grasp that people would prefer to have all the rules in a single volume, and a book where the covers are thicker than the contents is just wrong. Then...

Good Luck on your future projects (and life in general). Combat Maneuvers were the first major innovation added to BRP in a long time. RQ was always the most visceral, brutal, and evocative combat system in the BRP family, and you took it to the next level. And the fun too. Thanks for a great system.

Ok, here is my go at this: Shuwaggan Shuwagga (sing. Shuwaggan) resemble large primates with long powerful arms and covered in white or grey fur. They are equally at home on the ground or swinging through the trees and are fiercely territorial. Shuwaggan have a curious behavior of keeping other crea...

No preview's been posted (dunno why), but I can confirm that the contents page appears where it should in the book, and reflects the contents of the book. Which you'd expect, given that this book wrote itself and all I had to do was pretend to Matt that I'd been slogging tirelessly for a couple of ...

I think it would be tough now that actions/reactions in the same 'poo'l. If you go first and use all three actions you cannot defend yourself later in the round (and in MRQ2 not being able to defend yourself is really, really bad as any hit on you gains a CM). A player could choose NOT to use all th...

From Glorantha: the Second Age: "Dorastor was a sprawling land and centre of civilisation during the later centuries of the First Age. The First Council moved there to establish a new capital, from which to launch the God Project. After the birth of Nysalor a long, long war made it a foul, churning ...

Thanks!glutgrim wrote:Rurik, the skills tables etc. you uploaded are a good thing.
I've been busy lately but I hope to have some combat tracking sheets soon. Managing combats is much easier with good record keeping and I'm trying to come up with a couple of good sheets to help GM's.

I can't say for sure, but Cults of the Young Kindoms may require the Elric book for all the sorcery rules. Cults of Glorantha will reference the magic types in the RQII core book. Magic in the Young kingdoms is different than Glorantha, and so Cults of the Young Kingdom may reference rules in the El...

Re: MRQ2 Races worth it?
Please do not take that as a bash of MRQ2. The Goose will get the same amount of cash from me, just a question of which books. And most of the rewrites do seem to add a good bit. So it is meant to be a serious question, not a veiled attempt to bash MRQ2. Don't believe him - he's obviously a troll! ...

MRQ2 Glorantha has additional information that the MRQ1 edition does not. It is 260 pages compared to 160 pages, and the type is smaller and they have done away with the huge, space wasting borders so the words per page is much higher, so I'd say there is about twice as much content to the MRQ2 vers...

I started playing in Glorantha back around 1981 with just the original Chaosium RQ2 book. We had very little backround to start with. As new supplements were purchased/released obviously some of our characters or game history was revealed to be 'wrong'. We just followed the new info moving forward. ...

From the preview of Cults we know that Ernalda provides Heal Body so healing spells seem OK - but don't go overboard on the healing magic. Where did you find this preview of Cults? From the main Mongoose Runequest page scroll down to the downloads section. All free downloads (including many preview...

The Close Combat Situational Modifiers table on p.89 lists fighting in: Partial Darkness: -20% Darkness: -40% Fighting Blind or in Pitch Black: -60% Torches and lanterns list a radius of illumination. Really? The rules say that a Sorceror can change the spells they have memorized from a Grimoire in D6 hours, there's no mention of buying them like Advanced Skills in the Character Creation chapter. This was cleared up in an earlier thread. The intent was up to 4 starting spells for free at chargen...
