Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun! I'm jealous! Wish I could be running an Infernum game. Too much else on my plate at the moment... my gaming group's schedule is mapped out for a while yet. But I swear, I WILL run this game!!

Keep us updated!

Re: Inferno

So is this a D20 game? Do you know of any reviews of this game. It sounds kind of like the SJ game In Nomine. (see http://www.sjgames.com/in-nomine/) Is that a good analogy? where can I get more info? It's nothing like In Nomine, which is set on our current day Earth, except that you can play demon...

What would OGL China be like? I'd like to see an OGL Kung Fu or an OGL Wushu.

Re: Infernum: Sorcery save DC?

While reading sorcery descriptions it says certain spells include a save. My question is how do I calculate the save? Is it based on my sorcery check? My level? Something else? Thanks for the answer ahead of time. Each race has it's own way of calculating saves. It's based on the "good save, poor s...

I picked up mine. Great stuff. Love the Antagonists chapter! Plus there are tons of great plot hooks on every page, it seems like.

Hmph... I don't know what happened to my vote, but I'm over 40 too.

You've been gaming longer than me though. I started in '79.

Steampunk is cool (and is what I voted for), but I also like Wild West.

Re: Combat

3. Defense Roll: Instead of an automatic +10 to defense, characters roll a d20 and add results to their Defense. This adds more randomness to combat and should help players feel like destiny is less defined. Sometimes luck is better than skill and if luck is on the players side, she can overcome in...

would this theoretical zine have articles on games like jeremiah, conan, and the forthcoming infernum? or would it just stick to OGL horror, OGL steampunk, OGL wild west, OGL cyberpunk and the like?

I'd probably subscribe to S&P if it had more OGL stuff in it. But I'd also be interested in a separate online mag. I'd like to see new options for the existing lines, plus settings, adventures, prestige classes, etc.

I just finished reading The Steampunk Trilogy by Paul DiFillipo, and the last story had ectoplasmic secretions in it (the medium in said story secreted ectoplasm from her... uh... nipples). For anyone who hasn't read it, I recommend the book. It's irreverent and amusing. In places I laughed out loud.

[Steampunk] Ectoplasmic Secretions

So, the psychic/medium power called Ectoplasmic Secretions is an interesting and bizarre power. I'm wondering what the inspiration for that came about? Any literary sources? Movies? What? Where'd that idea come from? Ghostbusters? It's a weird one.

Oh, I'm not talking about jetpacks-- I want big ornithopter wings attached to a large, bulky harness. Hmmm... ok; you can bend the rules and have the hapless wearer of such a contraption be its power source, and thus it occupies the slots reserved for a power source instead of those of a passenger/...

Now create the roller skates as equipment instead of as a vehicle, and allow Land Movement as an option. What do you come up with? I'd do it myself, except I don't have time... ;)

This question applies to COGs as well. Hmm...

I was fiddling with the idea of using the Star Wars D20 method of doing damage, which requires a CON score too. Wounds are subtracted from CON, but vamps and COGs don't have CON.
