Re: Why is refined fuel so expensive?

Ah I was going the wrong way with the 100D limits, apologies. BUT. To maintain an absolute fixed price requires vastly more resources than I think would be available. The Imperium may mandate that fuel costs Cr500 per Dton but what happens inside those areas where local laws apply. Are the Imperial...

Re: Why is refined fuel so expensive?

Imperial Law may mandate that is the price at the star port, Imperial Law ends at the 100D limit. Really? Imperial Law and System Law is shared between 10D and 100D. Beyond 100D, Imperial Law is "absolute" (Sector Fleet, p12). If you wanted to sell fuel, you'd need to be on good terms with the loca...

Re: Why is refined fuel so expensive?

I thought about that, but I think that INSIDE the tanks, algae, bacteria and viruses would be likely to survive. It would depend on your universe's version of refuelling, whether the ship stores water in its tanks or - more likely in my view - pro- cesses the filtered water into hydrogen and oxygen...

Re: Canon? Jump standard on fleet capital ships?

Sector Fleet has this to say on the matter, if it helps... VESSEL CLASSES Within each class of vessel, several variants may exist. The following overview is a guide to the general capabilities of type rather than precise details of any given class. As a rule, Imperial vessels are designed to match “...

Re: Vehicle Handbook - Now Shipping!

I've noticed 2 incorrect page numbers on p3. Step 3 should refer to page 29 Step 4 should refer to pages 30-34 HTH :) Not guilty - we just got "page xx" in our copies, since ours didn't have the pretty pics (nice work guys!) and wasn't formatted (just tables and text). As for the sheet, got two she...

Heh - given the past history of proofreading these documents, that might be a dangerous thing to say! Before anybody lights any torches or grabs the pitchforks, are there any others you wish to admit to? There have been a few... That said, playtesting isn't really about proofreading tho...

Matt: OK m8 - I feel really bad about that - with the hard drive going down and then the influx of work, I completely forgot about it.

Re: The Great Traveller Clean-Up!

If you do a Deluxe book with errata and maybe some of the cooler stuff from supplements folded into the core book, and maybe some new art, I will happily buy a copy. Well, to be honest, if they did a "Deluxe Player's Rulebook" with all the background, career information, equipment and rules from th...

Yep, the longest I've had to wait for a reply from Matt was a few days, but I've had near-instant replies up to 11pm - even when I suspect he was ready to rip my throat out because I'd found yet another potential problem with the vehicle creation rules... :D Oh and Matt: I just realised, I never did...

Re: What book is needed to have a full map of the Universe

Jeraa - what is X-boat route in the map legend? Wow...some places are 8 hex apart...I guess you would need a special jump-ship or only can jump so far, and will have to rough it the rest of the way. I was looking down in the Reft Sector at the Islands Cluster That's where drop tanks and collapsable...

Thile: I think that they have some duplicates in there, under different headings too, as I recall. I think it just needs a good seeing to, with maybe the the more outrageous weaponry pushed to the back of the book where you don't need to go through it to get to the more used stuff, but also, perhaps...

Re: Size of Vehicles (for deck plans)

The simple inclusion of that in the 2nd addition vehicle design guide would be an enormous help IMHO. Well, shipping volume is already in the new rules, but as m3 - it would be up to you to decide on the exact volume... after all, 2 different designs using the same volume hull could be two totally ...

Re: Second Edition - Comments Wanted!

I would echo calls for High Guard - the later career books are excellent - HG lacks that polish that came later and could really do with another going over. If nothing else, a rewording and a complete re-presenting of the rules for ship combat and construction rather than constant referring back to ...

Re: Mongoose minis for VAS?

1/2400 is the most common scale so good choice. Not necessarily the case over here - 1/3000 seems more common, judging by the number of suppliers that don't live in the US... and so need to be imported. Both Davco and Navco, the two leading UK suppliers are 1/3000. Speaking personally, I don't mind...

Re: VaS 2.0 confirmed!

Yeah, that shows a four to one disparity in industrial capacity in the US's favor. Not the ten to one we enjoyed over the Japanese, but still significant. I do wonder how airpower and submarines would have developed in a different environment to WWII, which had some fairly unique advantages for the...

I would not use cockpits to compare to bridge sizes, just a thought... they tend to be different beasts - besides which, on both photos, you've missed out the Engineer's station which is behind the camera on civilian craft, where the military navigation and ECM station would be. On naval military br...

Also, I have copies of the vehicles books (Civilian, Military) and I believe you'll be sending out replacement copies of those books with S5-6 The Vehicle Handbook. I believe what was mentioned was reduced pricing for the new one for those that purchased the older vehicle books. This is what I reme...

Re: Pocket Rulebook - Please Make Available Separately

You could always check around for a second hand sale of the pocket rulebook. There are probably quite a few people getting multiple fleet boxes who don't need a handful of them, and they might just decide to sell or pass them on to others via forums or whatever. More like to find them on ebay, to b...

Saw this and thought I'd better wish you luck... 10 players was my maximum (with other systems) and that was enough... you might want to consider doing two sessions a week and splitting them into groups. Ok,just reread the thread 3-7 is much more sane... :) I would reiterate the use of index cards f...
