..............secondly: the new points system. By my (skim) reading it stops you from taking units more than three PLs lower than the scenario setting. That means in a PL War game, you can't take destroyers. I assume I've read it wrongly, can someone fill me in on where? anyone have an answer for m...

Is this a wordy problem where ship aricraft are now classed as ASW (but using the Recce stats from VaS) and so are represented on the table? Obs. Aircraft are placed on the table for ASW purposes. Drop the +1 AD to the owning ships main guns and the +1 Init. bonus on p. 15 of VaS, their basic stats...

I've read the posts you guys have put up about rules issues with OoB. At this exact point in time there isn't much I can say about corrections for the regular print run. There's other material in the book I can't comment on right now. Wish I could but I can't. Here's what I can say: Torpedoes vs. ci...

Glad you guys had fun. A last minute bow-out and a no-show kept it small but I think the whole thing was definitely worthwhile. It's gratifying to me that you guys came from so far away to play. If I wasn't leaving the state I would do a tourney every couple of months. Something that's kind of notew...

What they said, Leadman. You won't be able to get those 4 Patrol ships out of the same Battle FAP (unless you bought 8 Patrol choices). You're going to have to break 2 different points to get your 4 Patrol ships.

A couple of questions: -Are we assigning fighters to carriers and Earth Force missle load outs as part of our fleet list? I have been assuming that we are. -What kind of tournement points break down are you going to use? After all Annihilation doesn't use victory points at all. Will it be the same ...

Stripping interceptors can still be done in 2E. Pick one or two opposing Earth ships each turn and make sure you don't fire at anything else if possible (but don't pass up shots at ships that are in other fire arcs than the ones you've chosen to strip). Fire the smaller Dilgar ships first, the Targr...

8, maybe 9 so far. If there's an odd number of players I'll play, I won't be eligible for placement, ranking, or prizes of course, I just don't want to assign byes.

Any hints from the Mongoose Masters of VaS Greatness? (I even included gratuitous flattery). Flattery will get you...a vague answer. :) All aircraft have been re-statted. One aircraft stat has been removed and another put in its place. The AD scores of planes weren't tripled across the board...

Soulmage, if I were attacking you my posts would have been worded a lot differently. You're putting a lot of effort into discussing something that will remain as your house rules. Thats all.

Unfortunately, the obsolescence of rule mastery is part and parcel of a thriving & evolving rules set. The only way to prevent it is by never changing the rules. Personally, I'd rather have a game for which new rules are released and which improves over time. If I didn't feel that way, I'd still be...
