Thanks for the detailed info!! 8) For those in the know: Does the material of the book seem to be derived from RL East Asian culture/history/archaeology, or purely made-up fanciful stuff? I've been studying ancient China for the past 8-9 years and wonder if this supplement is based more on China or ...

What it all boils down to is the solidity of the ruleset. If the product is all glitz and glamour, a glossy, technicolour, orgiastic riot of graphics but a badly conceived and ill-tested system, then all the window-dressing in the world is not going to save it. I like a little sprinkling of graphics...

Another question. This one is sort of personal preference and image of the game... not that important. How do you picture the controls in Traveller spacecraft? Steering wheel/manual control or Star Trekish with automatic command buttons? Or some sort of mix or neither? I've got a guy named Mr. Sulu...

How's the binding? Are the pages in signatures or all stuck onto a layer of glue? Are the covers curled or bent? (I ask this 'cause some of the earlier Conan RPG books had covers curled inwards.) Thanks. ;)

a d66 roll?!?! That's a new one to me!
You could just as easily roll d% and disregard 67+
(Or have a matrix with 2d6 and 2d6 with 121 cells to map).

Q: Compatability with Classic?

I'm totally new to TRAVELLER too. If you're interested you can get the CD-ROM of all Classic Traveller books for 35 USD from farfuture , which is a steal for what you're getting on the disk! This way I can use whatever setting books or modules I like, and it shouldn't be too hard to adapt to other v...

Yep, Traveller is the best rpg I've ever played, bar none. I'm not talking ruleset, because there are umpteen zillion of them (and Mongoose Traveller ain't that great, but a lot of people seem to like it). What I'm talking about is the universe. It's a grand, amazing, exceptional universe to go pla...

I have just come into possession of the rules for Classic Traveller and was amazed how simple the rules are (d6's only; chargen is six abilities with 2d6, thus a range of 2-12;...

Combat is much deadlier and faster... Um, not in my experience. :? :( Deadlier? Perhaps. Faster? Definitely not. A single combat scenario could take an entire session to do all the tactical manuoevres and calculations properly. As many, many other people have noted before, d20 is roll playing and n...
