Re: VAS 2

Miniatures are irrelevant, a distraction, a misnomer. Why do companies these days feel they MUST have a miniatures deal in place before they release a book???? Just publish the **** rules and let us sort the minis out. I wont be buying any minis from anyone other than GHQ and Navwar anyway, I doubt ...

Re: VAS 2

I don't really understand this conversation especially the need to produce a bespoke set of models for WW2 naval wargaming. There's a plethora of manufacturers out there already making a range of ships mongoose couldn't match in their wildest dreams. There's Navwar, Skytrex and GHQ to mention but a ...

Re: A question for the ACTA Community

I'm a bit puzzled why Mongoose don't just do a generic set for ACTA and supplement it with ideas for different backgrounds. The player contribution to supplement such a set would be voluminous! Most of the work required to produce such a set has already been done and just needs rebadged imho. I mean...

Re: ACTA for 2300AD Star Cruiser

Bear in mind that the earth nations in SC used modern naval tactics to find and kill at a distance. Effectively using maximum hide whilst launching sensor drones and setting missiles up ready for the ambush. When detonation missiles go off they leave a cloud of radioactive debris that extends the ef...

ACTA2 B5 questions....

Yup we still play this at our club and we have a campaign on the go at the moment. After playing this for years its always typical that someone new to the rules interprets a printed rule in different way from the accepted (but not necessarily correct) way. I havent really looked at the FAQ for ACTA2...

Hi All, A couple of points... Firstly - how do you propose to treat a unit that's partially in cover (some figures in and some out)? Allocate the dice to the closest figures first; or to the ones not in cover; or to whichever the firer likes? For me the ones outside cover are usually the ones I woul...

Just read this thread and what a furore over nuthin' I actually LIKE painting (and I'm pretty good even though I say so myself  ). I also see the modelling part of the hobby as an important part for me. That said - I have prepaints (and armies painted by professional artists) I have acquired o...

Name and shame the retailer that sent it to you. Thats what I say.
Gonna give them the benefit of the doubt this time as they've been fairly good in the past.

I have heard back from Alexander at Mongoose anyway and I've a feeling they'll sort it out PDQ as they usually do

Thanks for that SS - I'll go there and see what they can do for me. They've always been very helpful in the past. Just a bit annoyed that the online vendor I bought it from either didn't take the trouble to check it - or worse - moved bad stock on to me hoping it would be too much trouble to send it...

Anyone else got dodgy bindings on their ACTA2e books?

I just need to know if the quality of the books is a commonplace problem or if it's just mine..... My rulebook is wrinkle bound to the point it won't open correctly. The paper quality is second rate, it's monochrome and the covers won't close properly. My fleetbook is a little better but the binding...

Actually Rob - hegemon's desires seem clear enough to me. I also have LAMI and would like to have LAMI gunners too (for club displays). Unfortunately it looks like it might be a job for Kneadatite and a sharp implement.
