I am fuly aware that the 747-laser was designed to intercept ballistic warheads, not to serve as a tank buster . . . I do not unterstand why those guys do not use a railgun system, which would be much ligther and much easier to operate. It could even work ground based. I do not think that the laser ...

That is right. SMG troops have to move, or wait in cover until they are assaulted. I like the SMG 4'', and the plus 1 die in CC for SMGs. This way they are realy differnt from rifles and historically correct. A SMG 16'' would be a kind of mini-MG. But a SMG is a pistol (the first SMGs was a WWI Luge...

Clam is good. To the road: Try this with 10 Churchill tanks line abreast. . . Not every road is a main road. Most roads in European cities and villages orginated form medivial (or even antic) times. There are alleys, which can be wider, and main roads, enough for two carts passing, and streets, whic...

For the game: The BFG rules are too good to waste. And a WWII Evo game would be real great. If you play BFE often enough (and other games to compare it) you can see why we want a WWII Evo game. BFe is one of the best rulessets I ever played! For the rifle: With extreme range and FZ we are talking ab...

TOS, again, calm down. Let this guy go his way. You ranting is reserved for us. . . We do not have to discuss that WWII SMGs were different from nowadays SMGs. Or buildings in WWII Europe (you can still place buildings closer together). And we do not have to compare BFG to 40K. . . if someone likes ...

Hmm, good idea TOS. Give the SMG 4 inches (mean 10 inches on the max of the FZ), 2D6 damage dice, no extrem range, 2+ suppression and a additional D6 in CC. That would make it a very differnt weapon, compared to the rifle. And the reason for the SMG choice: Dominate CC! You can always choose the tar...

I go with TOS for the SMGs. . . and he is right, increased suppression should be for the MGs, not SMGs. It is a further point to differ "light" MGs as Bren and Bar from rifles. And SMGs get no extreme range. I do not like -1 to damage for moving tanks, it makes them shoot and move far too easy. And ...

For a start, we need a theatre. I sugggested 42-43 eastern front. But Africa is also fine, my secondary choice. I would not take D-day first, it is very special as a theatre and late in the war. I would divide the war by years: 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45. And maybe ad a what-if year of 46 (and weird...

1. I would start with Kursk and Stalingrad, mean eastern front. These (and others in this period 42-43) are the biggest, most decisive and most bloody battles of the war. Both armies field now famous tanks, artillery and anti-tank guns. Even the infantry weapons of both sides are still famous. Every...

When we come to WW2, which peroid and theatre is to be taken? MP44 ist quite late. I would not differ the MP44 too much form modern assault rifles, to maintain game balance (the gun is still elected one of the best guns in the world). After all, I agree on you thoughts on the Thompson. It is best to...
