The avalanche has already started....

After handing a crushing defeat to the Red Hordes with my German Panzerkompanie at our local FLGS this afternoon, I did a victory lap through the store and found this on the shelf. Despite the rebuke that I knew I would receive from the High Command when I got home, I purchased it immediately. To th...

"Brilliant! What else ya got?!"

Seriously, counters that are complete and up-to-date for ACTA should be a no brainer now that minis are no longer available.

Updated VaS (and OOB) would be icing on the proverbial cake.

And besides - how can do you honestly not like futzing with systems and still be a gamer ? Oh, while I may not be a gearhead of high caliber, I most certainly am a gearhead. I am certain that there will be an ACTA version, as you said, even if it is only an S&P version. My reservations conce...

Simpler, but by no means more realistic. In a case such as this, it's better to have the rule to be ignoredby those who choose to than to not have it for those who will. It also means no BBB drive 400 ton 12 laser boats... Although I agree witht he spirit of your point of view, I am also not happy ...

My basic question is, does this change to starship operation improve Traveller? And does it make it more fun? So far, based on my reading of the test rules and following the discussions here and elsewhere, the answer to both thus far is no. Reinventing the wheel by substituting squares or triangles ...

It is only because of the pending Dark Heresy release that I am even beginning to comtemplate doing the same thing, thus ending both my son's and my own six years of exile as well.

Are BF:E stuff has been boxed up and is in storage, where it has been since October.

But a bump to TL-G for a total of 12.

The folks at Lone Wolf Development who do the Army Builder program have also created Hero Lab, which currently supports D20 and has a WoD trial component, are also slated to support MGP's RuneQuest. I'm sure that if enough support can be raised, that MGP and the maker's of Hero Lab can fix us up wit...

Still, I bet she can't throw a mate over her shoulder and get him out of danger while carrying a full load. I have only seen 2 or 3 women that could do that. So while girl power is all good and well, I wouldn't want them anywhere near me with the ball starts. Faced with the need to have my wounded ...

Rules-wise, I'd pull an idea from Avalon Hill's old, original Starship Troopers wargame. It would basically work like this: 1) Randomly determine which direction the wind is blowing (or use the direction designated by the scenario). 2) Line your infantry unit up in a straight line, each 1 inch apart...

My son just called from the Game Parlor in Chantilly. They have two Tunguska's, 2 SAS Squads and 2 PLA Command Squads/FAV. No sign of any Force Recon.

DD, you don't cut your boy any slack, do you? Better to sweat in training than bleed in battle? The pendulum swings both ways. I can't tell you the number of times he's literally shellacked me in 40k, ACTA and most especially SST (damned dirty bugs). I take my victories whenever and whereever I can...

I'm not sure about the army lists, though. They seem rather confining; they look to me to simply be a mechanism to sell more miniatures. Actually they're not that far off of modern doctrine for combined arms forces, at least at the basic, no frills level. I play a USMC armored force, with on...

Well, militarilly speaking. Otherwise it takes more than a large military to get known as a superpower... Agreed. Militarily speaking, global force projection is mandatory, and that capability is something that China is sorely lacking. The number of teams playing in that league are few. Regards, La...

Most MBT's have thermographic night vision, which is almost superior to daylight in some regards, expecially at night. Its easier to see troops and vehicles, except in certain specific, limited instances. And since at least the Land Warrior fluff in the Advanced Rules mentions their thermographic vi...
