We have a house rule for massive damage - Fort save = Damage taken.
As for damage, we have used an extra die as well, and it worked well for the d20 games.

Ranged combat uses the basic combat skill, and adds DEX mod instead of STR mod.

I'm away from my rulebooks at the moment, but in the section on psychic combat, there is a formula for the combat skill - I think it's class level (all classes that grant psychic combat) + CHA mod.

I think that the Vordaks and the like are immune to the standard powers of Mindblast, but are still vulnerable to pyschic combat.

ie. They are immune to Distraction, Force of personality, Psychic Lash, Dagger of the Mind and Spiritshreik.

The way I am using this in my game is that it takes your move action every round to keep the distraction up - it means that the ability is less useful at the higher levels, but with the other psi powers being able to be used with a full attack, that won't really matter to the PC's.

Book 24 just slightly expands the map of book 6, and book 25 slightly expands book 10. Book 27 & 28 have the same map.

I'd do the same, even though I've got the lot.

That part also applies when somebody readies an action to attack when the mage attempts to cast a spell.

I don't have my books to hand, but don't Bor dwarves get craft(alchemy) as a class skill as a racial ability - that would explain the error.
