That's a valid point; it does increase the power of boresight. You have to work a LOT harder to make boresight a liability. The Dilgar pentacon rule, as was stated earlier, may require a rewrite, or they just lose it altogether. On the other hand, they also become more powerful, as pentacons moving ...

Remember Ripple? He used to complain mightily about the Weak meaning you couldn't use Snakes for interceptors mightily.

He had a good point, too. Especially given how wretched the Nightfalcon is.

No offense meant. I remember looking for an answer to the sinking meta-issue a long time ago, and it still stands to this day. Any answer is worth a serious look-at. At one point, I thought a bout a system of initiative in which if you rolled a 4 (race +1) for net 5, you remembered that: Patrol ship...

Actually, it's extremely hard to do it as written; the ships that could be affected by the Breaching Pods can Fire, and (more importantly) move before the Breaching Pods attach. This allows for fleet reorganization, moving out of movement range of the pods (which is typically pretty small) and movem...

And old blast from the past checking in, and wanting to remind anti-Vree players that Vree, if using Super-Manouverable, are moving at or less than half their speed. This makes them EXTREMELY vulnerable to Launch Shuttles and Boarding Parties. Vree that forget this fact are annihilated, as they have...

I've just (very briefly) looked at katadder's expansions, and, if we were to do it really fully and truly with massive testing and everything, there's 1-2 years of fan community work out there to be done. Some stuff for future expansion are already out there, too! I seem to remember that Fleet Actio...

That's because I've been working more on the P&P product, and I'm usually one of the curmudgeons. Actually, I honestly haven't had an opportunity to look, and wasn't going to quickly as I expected fan-based publications to have a great deal lower priority than official ones. But, now that we've seen...

Agreed. If I hold anyone responsible, it's Warner Brothers, or, possibly, if he has all the rights, JMS. You have to understand exactly what the value of the product that you are giving license for is worth in order to set a fair price about it. Just that straightforward. In this case, Mongoose's op...

If this is supposed to be a more open system, that includes points, there will be significant room for ACTA development in a user community. True points systems will allow for "tweener" ships, such as the 2nd Edition original Demos, the G'Quonth, the unaltered Vree, the Assault Hyperion, the Balvari...

I'm sure when B5 does away you could write a "B5 ships for 3rd Ed. ACTA" document and have it for download for free. Where can we go to get confirmation of this? If we had elections on team members for a annual or biannual balance/tweak project and a free ACTA update for B5 ship universe, would thi...

The Khatrik .... OK, so you're right there. Let me see if I can make an alternative.

Guesses on optionals: 1). TBS 2). Redundancy 3). Point system port from ACTA:v2 to ACTA:B5. Legal question: If a fan base starts an organized, distributed, but free set of rule enhancements and playtests of an old expired product by electronic media (PDF), is that still permissible after the license...

Da Boss,

Clarifying:

As far as I understand it, P&P is still a go. Is that your understanding, too?

Gives us time for about half-an-iteration or so. Makes Redundancy unlikely but we might get a couple of last tweaks in (pak'ma'ra addition, removal of the Fusion Missiles and the Centauri Hunting Packs (I hope!), tonedown the new ramming rule, maybe?)

Shall we wait for the next Extraction Beam rule iteration from the PTB before taking up the Vree again? Some drive-by impressions on other things not specifically tested, but touched upon: Xaar is much better on its own, but the playtest Extraction Rule plus the Xaar is repulsive. Xeel is still horr...

Summaries in the playtest report thread. Recommend that Vree and Centauri issues are managable for the ISA with the possible exception of the Liati/WS interaction.
