Re: Why no career books?

We have looked at this and we believe that, in and of themselves, the careers in the Core Rulebook pretty much cover everything. That said... There will be some variant careers in the Traveller Companion, and we are currently working on a Psion book because, well, there is plenty to expand upon ther...

It is basically a toolkit for Traveller, things you can plug and play into your campaign - we'll have a contents list for you soon!

Re: carrier flights ?

Just to let you guys know, we are looking into including a comprehensive list - not sure whether it is feasible with regards to page count, but we'll give it a go!

Gareth swings by now and again (he was very instrumental in the recent Acute Paranoia campaign), but these days he is spending more time writing novels and computer games!

Re: 2300AD - Any News?

Hey there,

The new 2300AD has been completely re-written from the ground up, and is currently undergoing editing. We did consider having the core rules in the book, but it was growing too large!

Re: Upcoming Traveller releases

1. It will indeed be 1105 (pre-pre-pre FFW!) 2. We tackle all major worlds and a few minor ones - we are unlikely to cover every world of any sector (even the sparser ones of the Great Rift!) as referees benefit from having areas of their own to create their own adventures in. Basically, we don't wa...

Re: Victory at Sea Playtesting - Basic Rules

umm probably a daft question but how do I know what aircraft were on a carrier as the carrier just says 10 flights for example ?. or am I missing a document ? Well, this has been the topic of some debate :) We were originally going to provide exact load outs, but they changed so often throughout th...

Re: Welcome to the Open Playtest

Well, I don't want to be insulting, but when I read all the comments, and all the questions about VAS II, it seems to be an untidy draft copy. It is an untidy draft copy - that is all part of the playtesting process :) By the time the book is printed and released, it will be ship-shape and Bristol-...

Excellent report, just what we needed to see for subs - we'll be factoring all this into the next update.

Re: AAR: 800 pts USN vs IJN

Many thanks for this, you raise some great questions - we will be looking at them all. The first thing I would like to discuss with everyone is the destroyers vs. bad weather issue. The realism in me says this works well and nicely counterbalances the destroyer horde that tries to overwhelm an enemy...

What's the latest on this ? Thanks !
Ask ADB....
This is not a good answer, but I am afraid it is accurate - we have not heard anything about this since seeing the last draft.

Decorative fins are half the cost of aerodynamic fins and use no extra space. If the player does a drawing of the ship, they're free.
Those could be official rules...

Something to try out on Wakeless torps...

A ship using Evasive! may not force a Wakeless torp to re-roll a successful hit.

Re: Welcome to the Open Playtest (start here)

Thanks, it's the only destroyer I've seen that doesn't have it, and it seems odd for them to be less maneuverable than US heavy cruisers which do have the rule. Okay, I have consulted the Official Naval Boffins on this one, and they sent me a fair bit of text back covering tactical diameters and ru...

Will give the rules a whirl over the weekend.

Re: wakeless torpedoes, isn't this no longer used now that there is no opposed crew quality check to evade torpedoes?

Barham was 400 points to Scharnhorst's 500 but the Barham was able to dish out far more damage once it got to closer range.
Good catch - Barham (Queen Lizzy) is actually supposed to be 500 points. The fleet list at the start of the Royal Navy pages is correct.
