Re: Victory at Sea Playtesting - Basic Rules

hummmm, Nelson, Lion and N3 Classes are still over powerfull, is it a good idea to increase their armour to 7+ ? Remember, ships with small guns not gathered into turrets don't have the +1 to damage at long range, as far as they can shot at this range. Actually, we have just added a rule that lets ...

Hmm. The thing is even the biggest armored battleships were still vulnerable to shots on the deck. I think keeping armor at 6 works well for me.
Doesn't the plunging fire rule take care of that..?

Re: Victory at Sea Playtesting - Basic Rules

Actually, while I have you chaps... We are giving some serious thought to allowing 7+ armour for the very toughest ships, which will effectively make them immune to small guns (kinda the point of battleships...) by rejigging our armour formulae. If you want to give the following a whirl, I would be ...

Re: Victory at Sea Playtesting - Basic Rules

After reading the Movement Phase doc, it doesn't mention much about turning except the limit of 45 degrees. I seem to remember from version one there was some kind of template that was used for turning and that turning was based on the stern of the ship model. Does this still apply or is there a ne...

Re: Victory at Sea Playtesting - Basic Rules

Speaking of Torpedoes, you might find this excerpt from the Advanced Rules chapter of interest: Evading Torpedoes When under attack from torpedo, a ship’s crew can attempt to spot the incoming wake and take evasive action to minimise the chances of being hit. Immediately make an Opposed Crew Quality...

Re: Victory at Sea Playtesting - Basic Rules

Torps are certainly something that need an eye kept on.

Radar is one of the mechanics we are taking a close look at - at the moment, they work but are a tad complex.

Re: Mongoose Publishing and Amazon UK IT FR DE ES

In a nutshell, it is very expensive for us. We have a few titles in the UK store but we really don't get the best of deals with Amazon, if you get my meaning.

Re: 2300AD 2.0 release dates

I bet that the recent mega-campaigns for the OTU have eaten capacity at Mongoose, and while that's great for those playing in that setting, the 2300AD setting could really use some support. Consider that there is every chance that such mega-sets will be coming to 2300AD as well - worth waiting for :)
