I believe we have discussed nuclear HMGs before; and mostly called it RAW, but unreasonable.
Kind of depends on your setting. Not for the Third Imperium, but it could make for an interesting universe :)

October Playtest Addendum - Pearl Harbour

Hi everyone, We are looking to try something a bit different for Pearl Harbour, and we need your help to make sure everything works! Have a look at the scenario, give it a play through or three (you won't even need an opponent!), and let us know how you get on. You can download it from here: http://...

The Traveller Companion - Finalised!

Good news for every Traveller fan - the Traveller Companion has been finalised! Everything has now been written (we asked Martin to add some more chapters), edited, and is now awaiting layout. We are in the process of drafting in more graphical artists to help us with this, so expect a veritable sal...

Personally, I’d also love if - in addition to 2nd ed version of existing ships - a couple of capital ships could manage to sneak their way into the project... we need something to shoot at with our new Element cruisers :)
This is a good idea... but now I am thinking that is a separate book :)

Re: So, what's with the supplements?

Could give lite background of the races in the Alien's of Known Space and a more detailed account with extra material in regional books. We would still need to give a flavour of what makes them alien, and certainly unique weapons, ships, and equipment. Even if we stripped all background info from a...

Re: So, what's with the supplements?

The Vilani are kind of the default - they already have their careers in the core book, and we have done plenty of their sectors already. As for sectors in particular - never will be a problem. They will come, but these proposed books would be a way to get the actual aliens roaming about in the exist...

Aliens of Known Space would be better in a single volume, could give further books based on expanded regions.
That was my first thought - but they won't fit.To do any race any sort of justice, it needs around 80-odd pages...

Re: So, what's with the supplements?

Okay, everyone... you wanted it... This thread has been causing a bit of debate, but we have started to sketch out some ideas. A new Mercenary is already in the works, just waiting for final inspiration and a but of free time before production starts proper. A new Psion is about 60% written already,...

Re: So, what's with the supplements?

I will look into the PDF prices, but it may be a while before we can do anything there.

However, while we are on the subject of 1e books... If we could bring back any 1e book in 2e format right now, which would you like to see?

No promises, but if the stars align, I will see what we can do!

Re: So, what's with the supplements?

So, I've got to ask... why haven't you just gone back into the supplements from MGT1, updated the tables and terms where necessary, and reissued them as MGT2 supplements? Because we can do better, and make Traveller a better game. Yes, there are plans to revise and re-release older books, but they ...

Re: So...about State of the Mongoose 2017...

Matthew, do you happen to have an outline of the updated Mercenary book that you can share? Actually no, as a lot of our original plans have changed somewhat :) However, if you take a look at the Naval Campaigns book in the Element Cruisers set, you should get a good idea of the territory we will b...

Re: So...about State of the Mongoose 2017...

When's The Drinax Compendium out? Likely Q2 next year. Any chance of some glimpses into Shadows of Sindal -- even if just the back cover blurb? And, as I understand it, the Drinaxian Companion will be a compilation of the five supplementary Drinax adventures. Will it add extra features? New materia...

Re: Victory at Sea Layout

We are still playing with things - this format is ever-so-slightly Landscape, rather than Portrait.

Still looking into aircraft lists. There is a _huge_ amount in these books beyond the actual rules you have seen thus far. Will be previewing some of that soon!

Are the minis 15mm or 28mm scale? Thanks.
28mm - they can't really be anything else with what we are doing.

Not in the Companion - this is a subject likely to be rolled into a more global Alien Builder.

Re: So...about State of the Mongoose 2017...

Well, I can say a lot of that has been written! The Traveller Companion is written, edited, and just waiting for a) one more chapter and b) layout. The latter will be taking place just as soon as we get back from the winter break. Behind the Claw is in layout right now, and we are hoping to get the ...
