I think I may have to avail myself of this offer too.

Re: 2300 Gun Towers
2300 requires 1Dton per turret as per Traveller "But" also requires you to have either TTA, a UTES or a Missile Director as fire control. A "Gun Tower" takes two hard points, a "Heavy Gun Tower" takes five hard points. So the way I treat this is that you fit a fire control, say a TTA which takes Dto...

2300 Gun Towers
Do gun towers or heavy gun towers add and tonnage to a vessel other than that of the weapons mounted?
I am aware they add to the ship's signature.
I'm assuming not as I can't find anything, but want to be sure.

Re: Prime Directive Traveller
Marine minis? For which system? From which manufacturer?? Inquiring gamers want to know!! Task Force Games (then they went to Harlequinn, now Black Tree Designs). There was some talk of an SFB Marines game IIRC quite a while ago, and they were part of the minis line for it. It never saw fruition th...

Re: Prime Directive Traveller
It isn't from a product tied to Traveller , as such; but if you want to get an artistic representation of what Marines in the Federation look like, here's the (in-development) front cover of an upcoming ADB ground combat game. They kinda look like some marines from the last time the marine minis fa...

Which still won't do any good if the product is shoddy. Agreed, but Mike West has already said that ship combat and stats are probable inclusions: However, providing a 'cinematic' combat resolution seems very reasonable. It is also understood the need for providing Traveller-esque statistics for SF...

I have the impression that Steve Jackson Games shares your opinion, be- cause I was unable to find a print version of the current edition of GURPS Prime Directive, it seems it is only available as a PDF - which would nor- mally mean that the publisher would not expect it to sell well enough to pay ...

Really? Weren't the GURPS and D20 standalones? Didn't they require the core rule book? Crow D20 isn't, but GURPS (the latest version) is standalone. As I said it's an opinion, and it would make what is taken from the core rules and what isn't easier to manage. I'm not too worried if I'm wrong thoug...

I've mixed feelings about PD. On the one hand, I think it's better suited to gaming than 'proper' Trek rpgs because it's based around specialist away teams or 'Prime Teams' that can easily all be the same rank and can all be low rank aswell. So you don't get the old conundrum of who plays the Capta...

It needs to be something more personal to the GP exec or his criminal enterprises, and not something GP would develop, unless it was stolen from a rival corporation. . Perhaps the case contains data linking the exec to some funds embezzlement he was using to locate and get into an underground psion...

PBP game needs another player or two
Hi, I've been running a JD game on RPOL since August, at a post rate of around one post per player per day. There's always been room for an extra player, but one player has also left - leaving me with three. If anyone is interested, the game is here: http://www.rpol.net/game.cgi?gi=43063&date=128909...

I've never been clear on this in CT even, and always thought I'd missed something in the rules... If you are using unrefined fuel for anything, how can you do it? If hydrogen is the fuel, how can water at the same tonnage be used for anything other than 2/3 efficiency (if that)? If the fuel in MgT i...

I've confused myself (and I should know better)... Print is still needed - at good quality. But as you say, the pdf version should always be printable - and at 300dpi (at the scales of 12.5mm to 1.5 metres and 25mm to 1.5v metres). Other scales anyone? As long as it's a vector image not bitmap it ca...

Ultimately the 2D map is eps or ai so it will scale 1:1 if you like :) That's why I think it is increasingly important to move this stuff over to digital publishing. Almost everyone now can print at home what they need as they play/GM. Print is still needed - at good quality. But as you say, the pd...
