Re: First impressions – 2300AD – Tools for Frontier Living
If you will take a deep breath and try to calm yourself, you will note I was among those criticizing the artwork six months ago. Breath taken, fair enough. I've seen so much "Anything Traveller is immune to criticism" and "Support the publisher at all costs!" lately that I misread your comments as ...

Re: First impressions – 2300AD – Tools for Frontier Living
What I find very strange is that this was brought up long ago when the PDF came out, and I didn't even realize it. Here's a thread from last December , five months before the printed version was released: 2300AD: Tools For Frontier Living. The Art. What happened here ? Looks like someone left the pl...

Re: First impressions – 2300AD – Tools for Frontier Living
Well... all my players are casual gamers, who rarely (if ever) watch sci-fi films or read similar books. Being able to point to a picture in a book to say "this is what you've got" is very helpful. Absolutely, there is a place and a reason for art within these game books. But I'm not going to hold ...

Re: First impressions – 2300AD – Tools for Frontier Living
Wow, that artwork. I just read this review over on RPGnet which gives a glimpse of some of the art in TfFL. I have removed the book from my cart. Sale lost, and I'm bummed about it. Seriously, that is awful. I used to publish a Doctor Who zine in the early 80s that had better artwork than that, and ...

Good to know that folks working on this game supplement are so familiar with the game itself.ShawnDriscoll wrote:Mongoose Traveller doesn't use Classic Traveller's limited CharGen. Are you in the right forum?

Re: T5 available in UK
I just saw a post over at Marc's boards. A mod warned a poster that stating that T5 was unplayable is now grounds for infraction and eventual banning from the boards. You KNOW a product is sunk when diehard fans, who paid big bucks ahead of time are now threatened with banishment if they voic...

Re: 13Mann's Robot book
I bought it about a month ago, and here's what I posted over on the Google+ Traveller Community about 13Mann's ROBOTS (tl:dr = get it!): Although it's for Mongoose Traveller, this is not Mongoose's Book 9: Robot ($11.99, 100 pages), which primarily focused on robots as Player Characters and had (IMO...

Re: Copied from the ADB Facebook Page
I found the whole post shrill, babbling and kind of creepy. Further, SC is basically blaming the players for the delay in Traveller Prime Directive and doing so with strawmen that don't reflect what's been said here (WTF is "players want to be the television deck crew"??). Whatever. It wasn't the fi...

As I said, "depending on what you count (like boardgames)" and "At the very least". Hopefully this thread isn't turning into a match about which version is "bigger"

Re: Big Thumbs Up to Mongoose for Traveller
I think there were about 60 from GDW alone, not even including 24 (?) issues of JTAS. And then there were licensed releases by FASA, Gamelords, Paranoia Press, Judges Guild and others. I think it would be fair to say that it reached to about 120, depending on what you count (like boardgames). At the...

Big Thumbs Up to Mongoose for Traveller
I was Traveller window shopping on the site, and only just now noticed how massive the MgT Traveller library has become in just under 5 years: 70 books , not even including the LBBs! Add to that PDFs and third party publications, and it's probably closer to 100. To me, that's amazing and a huge acco...

Re: Prime Directive...
Well, in the deck plans I'm working on, I do have every bed and desk and table mapped out. I put that stuff in there so as to be able to guage whether or not the rooms were the "right" size. I suppose I could have deleted them after, but what the heck -- the Police Cutter is the smallest ship in th...

Re: Prime Directive...
If there is an adventure in the Traveller PD book, I expect to see a deckplan, too. That's just the way it is. At the very least there needs to be an example ship being built in the ship building chapter (showing deckplans of it in the process). There will be a ship building chapter, right? :) Word...

Re: Traveller Pocket Rulebook - Out of Print?
Excellent, thanks for the quick update. Please note that you can apparently charge at least ₤65 for it, based on the current market price. One more question: will the reprint be the "larger" 14cmX21cm/5.5"x8.5" size, or the smaller LBB size? I came upon the latter last year and was surprised ...

Traveller Pocket Rulebook - Out of Print?
It seems that the Traveller Pocket Rulebook is out of print. Hard to find and sellers asking ridiculous prices for it. Is it permanently out of print, or is there a chance it will be republished sometime this year? I find the digest size really handy and the $20 price point very attractive to new pl...

Re: Future Traveller - Suggestions Appreciated
We are taking a serious look at creating a new version of Traveller, one that uses the same core rules (exactly the same) as the current edition (or, indeed, T5), but one where you come to the table not with a mountain of books, but with a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone. All these devices will ru...

Re: Is it just me or do US stockists suck?
My intention was not to derail the topic into whether or not Heroclix games suck. The question was why is ACTA SF so hard for the OP to find in stores. I simply gave an example reason from one store I happen to shop at. Star Trek sells, Star Fleet doesn't. Or plastic pre-paints sell, unassembled and...

Re: Is it just me or do US stockists suck?
the clix game sucks, the only reason it does so well is the ships are more recognizable. What else should a game store care about? They're Star Trek minis and they sell well. Actually, I think Fleet Captains is a great game, but it's obviously nothing like SFB or ACTA. It certainly sold well enough...
