Re: Travellers Needed - Pirates of Drinax Reprint
And the 7700 price in the core book is for a single jump, which is unlikely in this scenario. A single jump is unlikely, yes, but Cr2200 is still not enough. A single jump-2 is Cr1600 and a jump-3 Cr3000. The cheapest way getting your freight hauled 5 pc is a combination of both, adding up to Cr460...

Re: Travellers Needed - Pirates of Drinax Reprint
As an active GM of the campaign, I would like to see an index and a compilation of all occurring NPCs, including their stats as a reference booklet. The latter could be purely digital of course. But currently its painstaking to find information for main NPCs, such as Princess Rao, who appears in the...

Addendum:
I would delete all references to future publications in name, especially if these volumes have not been produced during the last five years, i. e. Merchant Prince.

Re: Travellers Needed - Core Rulebook Reprint
Wow, a lot of good ideas here already. As a GM I really miss the following things: An Index in the back. Better and finer detailed bookmarks in the PDF. A more detailed list of contents in print and PDF that links to the correct page in the PDF. A set of common ships that is checked for errors in co...

Re: Rent a vehicle
Oh, you can rent an air/raft on a class D starport world as well. The deposit just is the same as a new one costs. Of course it's not a new one as the rest of the barfed-out egg in the vent tells you.

Re: Trade codes for non main worlds
In fact, you'd almost certainly want to do that if the trip would otherwise take a week or more since otherwise you'd be better off having a jump-capable ship hopping across the system. That depends on fuel prices, doesn't it? If you have a good contract for cheap fuel, a j-drive might be cheap to ...

Re: Trade codes for non main worlds
Yeah, spacecraft that use m-drives only are super-cheap intra-system cargo-haulers. And as soon as great corporations enter the game, they will probably push for high levels of automation to get crew costs down. A well laid out supply route will be able to push bulk and container freight from the ou...

Re: Trade codes for non main worlds
This raises another point. What would a ship charge per ton to move something from a main world to a base a week one way in system? If a round trip takes 2 weeks a trading vessel could make 2 trips a month moving cargo. That will come at a cost to pay for the ship's mortgage and other expenses. And...

Re: Traveller on VTTs
It's great to see the enthusiasm across a number of VTTs, united in our love of this great game. Happy to see more thoughts and observations! What I really like is the option of playing a game online one week, then playing a classic tabletop session the next, where all players can still access info...

We use FGU, very happy with the experience the developer who is very responsive and putting out nearly weekly updates. This looks like a very powerful tool, adzling. Could you talk a bit about the features available for GM and players? How would one categorize, file or structure handouts, worlds, t...

Re: Rent a vehicle
Something along the lines of an air raft might not be rented to just anyone. Aircraft charter, including pilot, might be a more likely model. Owners of such an expensive small vehicle won't entrust it to just anyone. Especially anyone who can just take off to the next star system. Good point There ...

Re: Trade codes for non main worlds
A lot of this might also depend on how long transits from the main world to other worlds takes. This can vary a lot during the main worlds stellar year, but its economy will have learned to rely on these times, developing something of an economic calender that includes work-force rotations, imports ...

The common factor here may be Chrome - can someone please try the free Adobe Acrobat Reader and see if they can replicate this? We seem to only have this issue on Chrome right now... Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread
Yesterday I digged out my old "Pocket Empires" for T4. Has anyone ever tried to manage empire-building for PoD with Excel (or similar software)? I really want a computer assisted solution for macro and world building events with a randomness factor, so the story remains surprising even for me as a G...

Re: The Mercenary Kickstarter is Now Live!
I'd say the actual issue is that the all branches of the British military have fallen below critical mass, which is where the tank crisis came in as well. In actuality, the Imperium probably has more qualified volunteers than it knows what to do with, because you can bet in lieu of the clergy, the ...
