Re: Behind the Claw

I'm hopeful they didn't use the MGT2 trade code table to generate the system trade codes. The change for NI world creates a whole lot of low and no population NI worlds.

Re: Completely new to Traveller - Which simple adventure to start with and advices

I would add to High & Dry as an excellent starter. It is very interactive with people and environment in the gaming area. While you can run it without modification I did find myself adding people and some extra objectives because I planned the campaign to return from time to time so I wanted it to b...

Re: Spaceship vs. Starship

Without the jump drive and jump fuel requirements maybe you could build a battlerider with twin spinal mounts. That way even when your crew is drunk and seeing double you've got one spinal for the both of them. :)

Re: Roll20 vs Fantasy Ground

Smiteworks has a 30 full refund policy so you could try it and see if the additional functionality is worth the money. I've tried some rulesets that just didn't do it for me and the returns were quick and painless. Also there are quite a few screenshots of the system on the FG website and in Twitter...

Re: How much combat do you have in your campaigns?

Just counting my current campaign there have been 4 combats in 8 sessions of which 3 of them were in session 8. They are currently crash landed on an unexplored alien world on the far side of a wormhole. That being said the party has taken plenty of damage from other things. The first session alone ...

Re: Your thoughts on a query?

I might take the opportunity to introduce an NPC prisoner who has an escape plan but needs more people. Another option if you don't want to add an NPC into the mix would be to have them over hear that their execution is scheduled for morning starting with (whichever is most attached to their charact...

Re: Roll20 vs Fantasy Ground

I'm not sure about Roll20 but the Fantasy Grounds ruleset is licensed by Mongoose. The MGT ruleset in Fantasy Grounds will allow you to create and store a character (it has the Core Rule tables in it so you can just click, it will output the results into chat and then you can record the results on t...

Re: MgT2 skill-level philosophy ???

If you only thing that you are considering is the skill rating then an 8+ test will be a tough roll to make consistently. However, there are a number of other modifiers that can change the results. Characteristics can raise (or lower) the DM. Equipment quality can raise or lower the DM or provide bo...

Re: Any new updates on 2300AD?

I know that the ruleset author for MGT1 and MGT2 in Fantasy Grounds is a fan of 2300 so it is likely he will want to include it at some point. So that is at least one avenue of electronic tabletop that's likely to be covered. :)
