You call it a retconn, I call it an error that should be addressed.

Re: Ship Design Philosophy

Cockpits are limited to 50 tons or less, so you have to go with a small (3t) or standard-sized bridge (6t).

Re: Traveller Errata

The product page for the Core rule book has a link for downloading character sheets The Highguard product page has links for a few related forms. They've done something funky with the web site recently, though, because at least on Chrome, all the hyperlinks are white on white, so a little hard to fi...

Re: [Deepnight Revelation] Tobia-To-Demnan Route

I think that's a good analysis of the route. Whether they go through Hierate or Florian space depends a bit on the diplomatic capabilities of the senior crew and what the referee wants to prepare (or gloss over). Since there is a presence at Demnan, there might be a negotiated route through the terr...

Re: Deepnight Revelation

Not an answer from Matthew, but my plan to post my errata and semi-rants in the Kickstarter, since that's the audience that will actually will see these materials as they develop. I will say one thing though, since it's really bothering my picky little mind: Not enough fuel processors. It would take...

Re: Behind the Claw

Noticed a few typos so far - “sport-laden clouds”? Maybe it’s time to start an errata thread? I sent a... rather lengthy... errata to Matthew via email, which was what he suggested when I queried him about it. I'll let him weigh in on whether I should post it here. I'm not sure if such a giant dump...

Re: Behind the Claw

So, one overly pedantic question: Is Dallia in District 268 still atmosphere 8 or is it back to B, which is what it was before somebody with bad eyesight got ahold of a bad PDF of the classic Supplement 3? You’ll have to buy it to find out. Already did. A year and a half ago as an add-on to the Gre...

Re: Behind the Claw

Release schedule says December now for the PDF.
*sigh*
And I paid for physical copy back in Spring of 2018 as a Kickstarter add-on. Hopefully that price is still good.
Hey Matthew, seriously, if you want a proof-reader before release, shoot me a PDF. I don't have to go back to work until the 12th.

Uitasoayaw is (0840/Ranib), not (0810/Ranib);
To be tiresomely pedantic, it is 0810/Ranib, the subsector, but 0840/Trojan Reach, the sector.

It's "Ognar", not "Ogna".

And please send free previews/PDFs of all your future books to Geir Lanesskog for editing   .

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

Great find, locarno! I'm not sure whether that counts as canon or not, but it was in the Traveller's Digest which was sanctioned by DGP was it not? I remember Hans Rancke-Madsen from the '90s online Traveller groups. Hans Rancke-Madsen is better known for his stuff on the Sword Worlds, which I thin...

Re: Upgrading drives on exisiting ships

Traveller doesn't really go off and explain how gravity tech works. I already asked the question about the difference between m-drive and lifters and it seems like lifters are just built-in, like what levitates an air/raft. So, let's say for your Cr 50,000 per dTon ship hull, you get lifters and com...

Re: Upgrading drives on exisiting ships

Drive stuff: Add for m-drive, replace for j-drive. That all makes sense. I'd give a trade-in salvage value for a perfectly functional old j-drive, though. Power plant, there's already an example of an add-in extra power plant in one of the Great Rift adventures, so that looks like an obvious add-in ...

Re: Ship software Intellect

Probably because in an early campaign way back in classic Traveller days, the ship had an intelligent brain, I've always been partial to ships with brains. Iain Banks only reinforced that in my vision. My logical take on Virtual Crew is that it would cover functions that the computer could perform w...

Re: New Traveller adventure up on DriveThruRPG: Makergod

I bought it and it looks very well done. Not sure if I'd actually run the adventure but it great background for Drinax about how Oghma works. How do things released via TAS fit into canon? Does this become "official" for that system, or is it subject to being overridden by the Drinaxian Compaign, fo...

Re: Gazelle Class Close Escort

Probably because it was originally designed with a small bridge because that's all that fit on the smaller hull (320 dT?) with the Classic High Guard rules. There is no option for smaller bridges in CT, and the CT Gazelle builds show no signs of any such extracurricular miniaturisation. My bad. May...

Re: Gazelle Class Close Escort

Minor nitpick, but I wouldn’t say the Gazelle has the wrong bridge, it is flagged as “small” in High Guard, so it’s a conscious choice. Why and how a warship is designed with a built-in -1DM to everything bridge-related is another issue... Probably because it was originally designed with a small br...
