Re: High and Dry - Project Steel?

I believe it was published in printed form for the 1st Edition of Mongoose Traveller, but never in pdf. The 2nd edition version that you are looking for was never completed. https://paizo.com/products/btpy86xm?Project-Steel Paizo still has the product profile, but let's do a cut-and-paste: PROJECT ...

Re: Who shot the missile in Lions of Thebus?

Someone shot the Ihatei ship down, but who was it? One idea is that it was a hunting guild or gaming commission trying to prevent the Aslan from coming to Thebus, because it would ruin their business model. They saw the ship and acted quickly by shooting it down. That was my first idea, but with a ...

Re: [Pirates of Drinax] Where are the crown jewels of Sindal?

In "Honor among Thieves", there's a throwaway line about the crown jewels of the Sindalian Empire. Where are they? Maybe in Shadows of Sindal ? Shadows of Sindal is a three-part adventure that takes place in the region around Noricum, the old capital of the Sindalian Empire. (...) In Part 3: Prince...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

Our travellers, unfortunately have made one potentially fatal mistake. A representative from PRQ’s liaison office on Acrid’s GeDeCo highport has arrived first, departing in a PRQ owned ship (via a dummy corporation to disguise ownership) during the initial assault. *This PRQ rep is short on details...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

Enjoying your story so far  , just a couple of questions on minor details: 1): Two proud Vespexers fall dead, another unconscious, and one seriously injured man crawls to cover . What's happened to the two survivors in Grand Central Station? 2): The Vespexers are natives of Drinax, a Size 4...

Re: The Traveller Companion - PDF & Pre-Order

Trying not to copy errata others have already posted... Great work, just adding a tiny bit: Page 56: the Gravity Types table lacks Size Code 9 worlds. P.S. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/262100/Traveller-Companion?cPath=161_24851 Gave it five stars, please add your vote, fellow Travellers! :m...

Re: The Traveller Companion - PDF & Pre-Order

The Colonial Upbringing “graduation” states: “Gain any two other skills listed above at level or increase one skill already possessed by one level.” I assume that should be “at level 0”. Also, There are ten Level 0 skills listed above. How many do you get pre-graduation? Taken literally, you get al...

Re: The Traveller Companion - PDF & Pre-Order

A few errata from the PRE-CAREER OPTIONS chapter: 1): Colonial Upbringing (p.30) lacks the Entry number for TL9+. In addition, you need to insert a "1" in the Graduation Benefits ( "Gain any two other skills listed above at level... " ). 2): School of Hard Knocks (p.32) lacks the Entry number for SO...

Re: The Traveller Companion - PDF & Pre-Order

In the Believer career (p. 36-37), Rank 5 and 6 (and the SOC bonus) are the same for two different assignments (Mainstream Believer and Missionary/Humanitarian). Is this intentional? Not a fan of seeing "Bishop" and "Archbishop" in the Missionary/Humanitarian assignment, I would like to see somethin...

The printed edition will be sent off in January, so we have 2-3 weeks to catch any issues. Printing will likely take 3-ish months after that.
Do you know if the preorders will be mailed before Hard Brexit Day (29 March)?

Re: [Deneb Sector] 2000 dT Huscarle Cruisers

Weapons Particle Beam Barbettes x4, 60 PP, 20 dT Nuclear missiles are never used, those are forbidden to huscarle fleets. Not sure (I do not have the Deneb book close at hand), but ANY weapon with the Radiation trait is "forbidden to huscarle fleets", if I remember correctly. Impressive work, howev...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

You need *FIVE* codes, every globe has:

1): 1/5 of the configuration code;
2): the word ACE;
3): a string of co-ordinates with the location of the secret base (where you find 1/5 of the code and the jump solution for the Ace system).

Hope this helps.

Re: [Pirates of Drinax] Coreward Hierate clan map

Your map is definitely MORE useful than those from The Source Of Truth™, I hate those (AsEtc. x 20) codes Travellermap uses. Two more things: 1): The various "Vassal Clan" planets in Tlaiowaha subsector (and beyond, maybe) could become "Ahroay'if Vassal Clan" worlds with no loss in realism. After al...

Re: [Pirates of Drinax] Coreward Hierate clan map

And here's the quandary: travellermap lists Hliyh as governed by a "single multiple-world clan." If that's not the Ahroay'if, I'm not sure who it would be in Tlaiowaha subsector. Travellermap is the official Source Of Truth™, but its raw data often need some creative adaptation. Never checked the m...

Re: [Pirates of Drinax] Coreward Hierate clan map

In recent centuries, trade with the Imperium has made the Tlaiowaha even richer. Their Ahroay’if vassals have also grown rich and powerful, and *fat and lazy* , on their cut of the profits. I doubt the Ahroay’if clan controls the worlds once owned by the Glorious Empire in Goertel subsector, they h...

Batteries are excellent to accumulate low Power for some time to give high Power for a short spike, e.g. to power a jump drive.
Yeah, I had this on mind, can't believe only the Express Boat uses batteries for the Jump drive.

Re: Standard vs. custom design: Where do you draw the line?

- do you fix the power issues inherent in some of the designs? Basically all default designs are inefficient, and have always been (except small LBB2 designs). A thing bugging me: why nobody uses High Efficiency Batteries (High Guard, p. 37)? Every ship with a Jump Drive would benefit from those! Y...

Re: [Drinax] What do the people on the floating palace do?

Does the palace keep a local time independent of daylight ( most people are always indoors anyway )? THIS, in my opinion. Besides the Very Thin atmosphere, I suspect clear days are a rarity in 'post-apocalyptic' Drinax: Ever since the Ahroay’if bombed Drinax from orbit, the planet’s weather has bee...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

So basically the writer was trying to turn Sindal into the Peoples Republic Of China In Spaaaaaaaace . This nicely explains why the Sindalian Empire was ruled by autocratic "(Star) Dragon Emperors", although with some Scandinavian influences ("Kronshtadt Class Pursuit Ship" and, obviously, Sindal )...

Re: Standard vs. custom design: Where do you draw the line?

The power plant, manoeuvre drive, jump drive, armour and hull configuration may not change. But "configuration" here does include the Hull Options (High Guard, p. 12-13) and the various Advantages and Disadvantages (p. 48-49)? If I want an Empress Marava-class far trader with Radiation Shielding, a...
