Re: repair costs?

DickTurpin, I saw that page in the book, but it didn't really answer my question. 2 of their ships took excessive damage and they wanted to know labor costs to have them repaired. I was curious about older rules or what others had done. Spending 1d hours per hull point would likely end with an aging...

repair costs?

If a ship gets damaged in a fight, the core book talks about repairing with scrap and it taking 1d hours. My players got the crap kicked out of them suffering pretty severe hull damage, minor m-drive, and lost an armor point. I am trying to figure out repair costs. They agreed this is too much for t...

Re: Prison adventure ideas

Dang, Epicenter. That is some really good stuff. You should put that together into a module. Because I only have 2 sessions to pull this off, I could have the players stumble across a prisoner that is already in the process of building this ship. Like they see him sneaking off to the already scrappe...

Prison adventure ideas

So, one of my players got pinched while engaging in a bit of space piracy/murder in the Trojan Reach. His hired marine companion got spaced on the spot. This player is also psionic, but his captures are unaware of this. Another of my 3 players is going on vacation and will miss two game sessions. So...

Re: Players and their armor.

Those are all great solutions guys. I think I am going to go with the armor having a durability or HP. It won't always take damage, but when hit hard enough, it will. I've had to make drastic changes to prewritten adventures to make things threatening. My most recent was increasing the number of mon...

Re: Players and their armor.

In an upcoming session, I'm thinking about giving them environmental challenges that their armor will make more difficult. Like traversing a mud pit or extreme humidity that coats and obstructs their vision. I have already house ruled that doing things that require fine motor skils, like first aid, ...

Players and their armor.

Perhaps I was to lenient on my players, but I basically allowed them to buy what they wanted from the supply catalog as long as they had the cash and went to a place that had it. So now they all have badass armor and I am finding that most of the pre written stuff has threats that can't really hurt ...

Re: Is there a place that is culturally cybernetic?

In the Trojan Reach, Tech World and Neumann seem to be places that think highly of cybernetics. Also, Strend, the TL-14 capital of the Strend Cluster pocket empire. Thanks paltrysum, Strend Cluster is perfect for what I was going for. Plus I already used a French accent (or as good of one as I coul...

Is there a place that is culturally cybernetic?

Does anyone know of a world that uses a lot of cybernetics as part of it's culture? As in, someone not cybernetically enhanced is the weird one or even ostracized. I am working on an adventure and want to add a little flavor. I was wondering if a place like this already existed or if I need to creat...

question about sensors and stealth hulls.

I am running the Drinax campaign and if i understand these rules right, the harrier gets -6 to be detected plus -1 for each TL difference between the ship and the sensors trying to lock on. That means a SDB gets a -9 to locate the harrier on the sensors? The operator would need to have a 4 skill and...

Thank you both for your input. Your ideas Hal have given me some new ideas. I just hope the players make better choices. We'll find out tonight.

Re: Drinax and Anagathics

Tech-World makes anagathics, i think. Maybe, it says that in the beginning of the Demon's Eye adventure? I forget where i read it. Somewhere else is says that King Oleb sells Drinaxian artifacts to the dismay of his people. Maybe this is for anagathics from Tech-World? Perhaps procured via Rachando?...

Looking for advice in my Drinax campaign.

My players are involved in the Treasure Ship mission at the moment and here is what has happened. The players got hired on Arunisiir as a fill-in medic with his medic 3 score (since their previous doc got dead) and with the engineering and mechanical skills. They instructed the crew of the Harrier t...

Re: [Pirates of Drinax] GeDeCo's plan

I am only 2 adventures in and I feel like it is extremely helpful to have read the entirety of the campaign. Not only for the GeDeCo angle, but there are characters in Drinax that play roles that you might want to introduce early and have them pop in and out throughout the campaign. Just so your pla...

Re: Electronic banking & currency

From Page 91 of the Core Rulebook... Citizens of high-technology (TL8 or higher) planets often use electronic Credits. Transactions are authenticated and managed using computers or personal comms. While electronic Credits work perfectly well in-system, lack of faster than light communications in som...

Re: Pirates of Drinax patron quests.

Hey, I like that idea, and think I will borrow it -- probably not to the extent that the plant matter has taken over the world, but maybe as a nasty surprise waiting in the bioresearch lab. Ta, Dan. Consider it given. Glad to help. I don't know if I am going to use all that either. I was ...

Re: Pirates of Drinax patron quests.

So, as mentioned above, my next session will see the players maybe heading off to Thalassa at the behest of Provost Shala. Now, the Thalassans are supposed to be schemers and manipulators, so I'm trying to think of how that will play out. One idea I had is that the whole idea of stealing the data a...
