Right. I doubt they'll be a 2nd edition Aslan sourcebook.

Sourcebook for the Aslan?

I'm reading the article on the Arhiyao clan in JTAS Vol. 3, and I feel like I'm missing big chunks of what the author was trying to say. Part of it is terminology, part of it is knowing nothing about Aslan history, culture, or politics. I gather that Behind the Claw will be Mongoose Traveller's Asla...

Re: Weapons for a special-operations ship

Unless you're building a ship-to-ship boarding craft? But that doesn't seem low profile to me. It's kind of obvious once you fly up alongside. Boarding space stations and spacecraft is definitely part of the mission profile. The stealthy part is the ship's use of the "superior stealth" hull option ...

Weapons for a special-operations ship

I'm designing a special operations frigate: 2,500 tons, TL16, thrust 6, jump 4. Carries a marine company, primary mission is low-profile insertion and extraction of same. What should I arm her with? I'm thinking ion cannons, EMP torpedoes, and jumpbreaker missiles for disabling spacecraft, and conve...

Blank (really, really blank) subsector maps

I want to generate the Foreven Sector for my game, and I want the hex numbers to correspond to the hex numbers on travellermap.com. Every "blank" subsector map I can find has hex numbers already applied. Is there a source for actually blank (just the hex grid and nothing else) printable subsector ma...

Editing bookmarks really ought to be allowed, even if editing the content is otherwise verboten.

Why can't I add bookmarks to my PDFs?

No, seriously. The core PDF is severely lacking in bookmarks, but I am inexplicably prevented from creating new ones. Who do I need to slap?

Not sure this counts as errata technically, but can we get a serious set of bookmarks?
Better yet, can we get the ability to create our own bookmarks?

Are 13mann's products worth anything?

One of my players (yes, holy crap, I'm running Traveller) wants to build a couple of engineering robots, and says he's gotten recommendations of Traveller ROBOTS by 13Mann. I'm not familiar with their material; is allowing this book worthwhile?

size and "bloat" is fine so long as everything is useful, fun or and unqiue - the bigger the better in that case

i don't have any issue with the size of T5, just that I'm pretty certain it doesn't work as a playable game without a lot of fixing first
What is it that makes T5 unplayable?

I think I'm still banned from COTI because I have a gmail address. This results in me having a poorer opinion of their product and management than I would normally.
Why does having a gmail address get you banned?

I didn't know about the "forked" editions when I backed the Great Rift Kickstarter; I just assumed that Mongoose's Traveller was the current edition. What's the take on T5?

Probably easier to imagine in a fantasy setting, where alliances can be sealed by marriage.
Fantasy? "Feudal" is the word you're reaching for, and I imagine a number of alliances in the TU have been sealed by marriage.

Re: A question of A Ex Royal Guard Officers new rank

Assuming that "Brigadier" is shorthand for "Brigadier [1-star] General," there's no reason why he wouldn't continue to call himself that. The force is a heavily reinforced battalion, bordering on two battalions, rather less than what a general ought to command; but you can write it off as the guy's ...
