Re: Did I make the roll too easy?

I wonder if these are really questions, or are they ways of saying 'look at my awesome success' without actually coming out and saying 'let me tell you about my character'.

It does seem like answers are simply ignored, except where the question is immdiately revised so the answer no longer applies.

I'm not in a positon to properly answer that one, but the distance claim is correct. Deepnight Revelation will take your Travellers further than anyone ought to go.

Re: what skill for Security checks?

The solution might be to to take a Tactics specialism such as (Close Protection) or (Surveillance) depending on the application.

Re: Did I make the roll too easy?

You made the roll, and everything else, far too easy. As others have said, you seem to have worlds changing allegiance on a couple of skill checks, and vast quantities of money handed out at any excuse. Getting an 8000 ton ship should be the payoff for multiple adventures with major difficulties, a ...

The physics of making those dice could advance our knowledge by centuries. Some sort of semi-mobile superdense material in a smart matrix perhaps.

Re: Naval Campaign Book questions

The overall concept is that CEI changes little unless there is some big event like a sacrifice to get out of a major situation or heavy casualties. It represents the overall competence and cohesion of the crew.

ECEI is essentially CEI modified by whatever is affecting it at the time.

Re: Is it a good enough fleet for Darokyun too weak?

This is what happened historically. Pirate fleets in the South China Sea got bought out to become offical navies. They'd go where the money was....

Re: Is it a good enough fleet for Darokyun too weak?

As usual, your projected fleet is far too large. A pirate with that sort of force at his disposal would be able to cause enough of a nuisance to be worth smashing. If he doesn't use it, he can't support it because it's not generating revenue, but that many ships making attacks will cripple the local...

Re: What rank would the commander hold? and suggested Skill DM?

(Standard reply): A very small amount of research - and by that I mean a few minutes on Wikipedia - would give you a grounding in what ranks command what force levels. I have repeatedly suggested you try this. You might also look at the force descriptions in certain Traveller books. Is this really a...

Re: What should my cousin do?

It would be unreasonable to expect a referee to accept something non-standard made up by someone else. Especially since the people you (claim to) know seem to like inventing grossly overpowered versions of pretty much everything. Your, err, cousin, has to fit in with how this new referee wants to ru...

The Drinaxian Companion (which I wrote) attempts to provide guidance on how to navigate in the sandbox (which I am sometimes credited with writing, but I didn't). The players I'm referring to had been complaining that other players in the group were getting all the limelight (on account of them comi...

Re: 1 question on Huscarle Fleets

Somewhere in the GDW Traveller materials (might be T4 though) there is a statement that M drive only works properly close to a planetary gravity well. This is at odds with the constant acceleration formulae dating from CT days. To reconcile this we assumed that the drive works OK within a star's gra...
