Re: Ship inspection time for the Broadsword, or why you're late to the party.

They may be able to get permission to transit thru the system under escort with weapons and cargo holds under seal. So, maybe buying fuel from shuttles but no landing/docking at the starport and no shore leave for the crew. Docking fees still apply, of course. Maybe an additional one-time licensing ...

Re: Growing a System Economy

How about some ideas for using similiar methods to gain Drinax The Alliance of high population yet low wealth and low resource worlds in The Trojan Reach?. I do have ideas but I value others opinions, thoughts and advise. Thank you I’m not familiar with the Drinax setting (I may be the only poster ...

Re: Growing a System Economy

I’m up to eight well-defined factions so far - four internal and four external. I agree, once things settle down a little there should be a couple of Imperial megacorps poking their heads in looking for profit opportunities. Since the campaign has already established the main world’s chief cash crop...

Re: Growing a System Economy

Taxation policy will certainly be a major concern for the PCs if they decide to start their own business or make some investments! I agree with all of you that building on the world’s Ag advantages makes a lot of sense. Market prospecting and starting their own subsidized shipping line would both ap...

Growing a System Economy

Looking for ideas and general discussion on this, since every system is different and narrowly prescriptive rules may not work well (or at all). The situation - assuming things go the PCs’ way in an upcoming major space battle (Not A Given - the PCs can influence the results either way by their acti...

It’s not that hard to create your own careers. But what I’ve noticed is that the more you have, the more narrow they tend to become. Not a fan of that. I’ve toyed with thoughts of a career system that would be more freeform. Maybe something focusing more on events? Haven’t come up with anything I re...

Or you could have a port on the door that would allow you to plug in an external power source.

I use your #1 option. That gives the players some ability to tailor their characters while still keeping an element of randomness.

Currently, the XM556 is only available to the military and law enforcement. You can stay up to date with XM556 developments by visiting the Empty Shell website.

Not to mention 22LR has very low recoil, making it easier for relatively untrained shooters to have some degree of accuracy.

Re: What remains powered on a ship after a powerplant failure?

On a smaller scale, I would expect things like atmosphere monitors to have their own backup power supplies. Likely they would go into a sleep mode, waking up only when someone taps on the panel. You may not have power for the iris valve, but you’d at least be able to tell if there’s atmosphere on th...

Re: Lightning strikes on spacecraft

Lightning rods offer a low-resistance path to ground for lightning strikes. Aluminum could work fine but needs to be sized accordingly for the current carried. From reading thru the links some of the others on this thread have provided, when lightning strikes an aircraft (or a spacecraft presumably)...

It could be that the hatch sensor only sees that the hatch is closed but can’t check to verify it sealed.
