computer dice intrusions

I'm the first to admit, I'm not exactly too creative in an instant. I kinda dread the computer die coming up more than the players do. Was wondering if anyone had a big list of potential events, or, if maybe there were cards in the pipeline? Was thinking about making my own deck of potential events,...

the economics of death

So my players are still having a blast, doing a retcon this weekend and making everyone re-roll 'cause we're adding a new person to the group, which is fine 'cause they're running out of clones. They're used to D&D and being a little attached to their characters, and want to improve them. I'm wonder...

Re: Where to buy locally? Toronto, Canada

Thanks so much! I'm always paranoid (hurr hurr) of missing out when it comes to printed materials. Shop said they weren't sure about a reprint/resupply. Gotta make sure I've pre-ordered the new stuff for this and Traveller too. My group had a blast playing their first game, but as much as I support ...

Where to buy locally? Toronto, Canada

Called my local shops, both reported they sold out within a few days, and the distributor is out as well. eBay and Amazon are both priced over what I can buy direct for. Anyone have a lead on a local shop or online retailer in Canada? If not, probably just wait till a few more things come out and or...

Re: Introductory campaign atypical?

I finally got around to running the game for my crew this weekend - they're almost exclusively D&D players, but we do frequent board games, Coup and The Resistance and a big hit. My bunch figured it out during character creation - I had them write out the full character sheet, and someone said "Now ...

Re: Confused about combat

I'd like to use this situation to report a treasonous act of ignoring the "Troubleshooting for Red Clones" in which it states: "When two characters are in hand-to-hand combat, they get a chance to dodge or block their opponent’s attacks." (Page 40) Of course, the "Violet Clearance Manual for Killin...

High praise

It wasn't more than a few weeks ago I was chatting with the two other GMs in my group about fudging results and eliminating currency as the driving factor. We're a pretty odd mix of gamers, myself being late 30's, with regulars in their late teens and everything between. I'd been advocating that GM'...

Re: Confused about combat

2) Athletics as a defensive skill- in melee combat you can use athletics to Dodge (the player rolls Dodge to the NPC attack- if the GM allows him.) Exactly. A round of combat when exchanging laser-fire with some traitorous commie is two skill checks, both rolled by the player: Roll to hit the other...
