Re: Aslan and Clan Society
Because of their disparate nature, it would ostensibly be easy to divide and conquer the Aslan. There is little that holds their territory together politically speaking. However, few outsiders uphold the tenets of fteir, which the Aslan view to be sacrosanct. Even if two clans dislike each other, po...

Re: Aslan and Clan Society
Most of that is pretty accurate. The one thing I would say is that basically all clans owe fealty to the Hierate. At least, that's the way the leading clans of the Hierate see it. As for the Hierate, there are few things that hold it together. It is a loose confederation of competing clans, connecte...

Re: Jumping away from gas giants
Same goes for stars. Yep. Which can be problematic. Take a look at the red giant in Acrid/Trojan Reach and tell me where to place the mainworld. If you place it in the habitable zone, it's still weeks away by manoeuvre drive. You can place Acrid in the outer system, but that makes its corrosive atm...

Terran wines and Solomani or Vilani antiquities depending on where you are in the Imperium.

Re: Trepida Grav Tank
So the Z would appear at TL16 then. I hadn't looked at the TNE books. MgT2 vehicle construction rules are quite different from both MT and TNE, so it's impossible to fully mimic their designs, but at least I can get the names of the weapons right. Thanks for the note.

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread
Sounds like it's going great, Ruhalla. You're really leaving no stone unturned. Fitting both Marduk adventures in, rolling into "Honour Among Thieves" and then moving into the "Shadows of Sindal" trilogy is a great start. You're giving your players the full experience. I love the user of the Vespexe...

Re: Reach Adventure 7: The Last Train Out of Rakken-Goll
Two sessions into Rakken Goll and having a blast with it. Running this as a "cut scene" in a Pirates of Drinax game. The group had just completed "The Demon's Eye" and were therefore deep into Imperial space. Got them hooked into going to Gor so we could fit it in. It makes a nice dramatic shift fro...

Re: Trepida Grav Tank
Resurrects thread from the dead. Using a giant loophole in the rules, we can specify a fusion power plant and 75% reduced fuel capacity, still leaving us with years of mission range. This actually gains us two Spaces at a cost of MCr 8: I don't think we can do that. Taking a look at the battle tanks...

Re: State of the Mongoose 2020
One format change for the Solomani And Spinward Extents book I'd suggest (after reading Behind the Claw) and recommend - have an actual text entry describing whats interesting about the planet for each planet in the secotr. Doesnt have to be long- just a sentence or two. GURPS Behind the Claw did t...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread
While reading it i was wondering has anyone had a situation were your group attempts to go after the Henry Ford ? im sure it will come up with my group as they have been discussing how great it would be to have a floating space dock :) That was not attempted in our game but it would add an exciting...

I will happily listen in as well since I've been tasked with writing an upcoming Mongoose book on this very subject. It will also include a fully developed Classic-Era rendition of Zhdant sector for those of us who want to play in a Zhodani campaign. I can't shake the idea that a noir Tavrchedl’ det...

Re: How did the K'kree ever survive?
Perhaps their dominance over carnivores coincided with their advancement into the stars. I don't recall the historical details. Therefore, they were able to advance ever outward, inhabiting every world that suited them, enabling them to prevent widespread ecological disaster to some extent. However,...

Re: 4+ Years on, how is the underlying math of MGT2E holding up? (especially in the Starship and Vehicle construction ru
Mongoose's starship and vehicle design sequences are not integrated but both work well independently. The fact that the vehicle design rules are not founded on the same principles as the starship rules irks some fans but I will say this: MgT2 vehicle design is fun and produces usable vehicles for yo...

Re: Hypothetical situation
The Imperium has a bureaucratic arm, a.k.a., the nobility. While nobles do not govern worlds, they do administer them for the Emperor. I'm sure the local noble, whatever her or his rank, would be willing to listen to any arguments from the aggrieved but ultimately, the Imperium does not interfere in...

And while we are at it: What are the holdings of PRQ in the area?

Re: [Pirates of Drinax] GeDeCo presences
I believe it's Falcon, but can't remember the source  ... Ah-ha! Thank you. That would also make sense but for phonetic reasons instead of literary. :D I would prefer that it was Falcon (which is indeed described as having a GeDeCo-created starport in other materials). Pourne seems to have ac...

Re: [Pirates of Drinax] GeDeCo presences
We played Acrid as PRQ controls the planetary mining operation (the only settlement of on the planet), and GeDeCo owns the starport. My group hasn't done anything with Acrid yet but skim its gas giant and get pulled over by the PRQ cops in their tricked out SDB but I—on memory—had GeDeCo in the rol...

Re: [Pirates of Drinax] GeDeCo presences
Acrid and Argona are PRQ, an entirely different evil mini-megacorporation. From Pirates of Drinax, Book 2 : "GeDeCo’s headquarters is on Vorito, in Tlaiowaha subsector and perilously close to the Hierate, but they have major facilities on Tech-World, Tanith, Acrid, Argona, Byrni and Falkenberg." I ...
