Re: Traveller Fiction

Thanks for your feedback Paltrysum ... I'll read them. Already read a novel By Martin (Storm Shadows IIRW) and it was very well done. Got to finish Dumarest Saga first ! ... in the middle of 5th tome and greatly enjoying it. Great to know. I have been slowly collecting the Dumarest of Terra novels ...

Re: Traveller Fiction

I read Chris Jackson's "A Warrior's Soul" and really enjoyed it. It takes place on a world that happens to be a key spot in the Drinax campaign, which made the story very relatable. Well written and fun. I've also read Martin Dougherty's "The Dimenos Problem," which was also great. Looking forward t...

Re: Resolving the Admiral Darokyn subplot

Sounds like a nice opportunity to either wreck the Harrier or initiate a TPK. Probably not what you're after, but at the very least it sounds like your Travellers are headed for some dramatic action.

Re: Reach Adventure 6: Exodus - Now on Ebook & Pre-Order

How many pages is this and roughly how long would it take to play? 41 pages including the ships, equipment and vehicle sections. Length of adventure probably depends on the group’s play style, but I’d say three or four sessions. It’s got the potential to really launch a campaign in the region if th...

Re: Reach Adventure 6: Exodus - Now on Ebook & Pre-Order

Sounds like an exciting adventure! A question about Little Betty, the shuttle: is this an Aslan Shuttle, and if so is it any different from the design in High Guard? The shuttle is the same one shown in High Guard with the described modifications. The captain of the Bad Betty had the ship's docking...

Re: Running the Coup in Blood of the Star Dragon

I was just looking over "Blood of the Star Dragon" and thinking about the flexibility designed into the "Pirates of Drinax" campaign. On the surface, this adventure seems like it should be run toward the end of the campaign, but as I think on it, there's really no reason that it has to be. @psitrave...

Re: Supporting Details: Registration Numbers for hulls

Whatever the registration number may be, presumably it is displayed in some alternative character set that is invented some time between now and the 57th century. Most of the art I see has cool little characters on the ship that clearly are not Arabic numerals. https://i.ibb.co/bv5j0XG/enkidu-drell....

Re: More Broadsword

I think those are intended to be arcology towers. Nice work on the art, Shawn! EDIT, responding to Moppy's comment below: Oh, sorry about that, Moppy. The arcology towers befuddled me for a moment and I initially thought they were shadows so I assumed you did the same. Now that I know what you mean,...

Re: Deckplans are hard. I am trying this custom yacht and they all look bad.

I just recently redrew the deck plans for Prince Harrick's yacht in Pirates of Drinax : https://i.ibb.co/3zvgFfC/Harrick-Yacht-3-D-deck-plans-144dpi.png Very hard to redesign it with the specs described in the book. Almost no cargo space was left. Full disclosure: I made no attempt to fully marry th...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

Prodigal Outcast, Episode 4: Borite Blues We held a rare weekday session last night. Here is the lowdown: 276-1107 The Ghost of Sindal , accompanied by Kasiyl’s Ktiyhui -class courier, arrive in the Borite system and reconnoiter the planet. Re: Animal Encounter: The Groat

Minor quibble, I'd probably make the scent gland invoke uncontrollable retching/nausea rather than fleeing uncontrollably. Bit too D&D for my group :) EDIT: Found it, it's in the CT adventure Twilight's Peak. Several paragraphs of fluff text along with an illustration. Scanner is on the fritz momen...

Re: Animal Encounter: The Groat

I'm unfamiliar with this animal. Was it intended as a parody of anything? I don't think so. It was included with the CT book, "The Traveller Adventure" as part of the scenery on Fulacin/Spinward Marches. It is obviously very similar to a goat with some distinct differences. We have a need for a her...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

The other thing is that they are quite effective instruments of death. Some of my players have become pretty cavalier about using the PA to irradiate their prey. However, one player in the group has made the observation that the PA is really supposed to be a deterrent weapon. You sneak up on your pr...

Re: Animal Encounter: The Groat

Now that I've been digging around a bit, I don't think there are stats anywhere, not even for CT. Nice description in The Traveller Adventure that made its way into Aramis: The Traveller Adventure as well: Groat : Herbivore native to Fulacin in the Rhylanor subsector. Individual groats are harmless,...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

Definitely not designed to go toe to toe with a viable ship. Now, for landing on low-tech or poorly defended worlds and raiding the heck out of them, they're nicely geared for that. My players are also looking at how to upgrade the three they acquired. If they send them out as is to pirate other shi...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread

I sent six 300 ton Oghman Raiders (from Makergod) with 8 fighters to scare them off, but it didn't work – they charged in. With some unusually clever tactic (keeping at Very Long range, good for Particle accelerators, bad for pulse lasers) they triumphed. We just used the very same ships during "Pr...

Animal Encounter: The Groat

Mongoose has redone many of the CT animal encounters. Anyone recall if the Groat has been redone anywhere? I'm sure I can convert it myself, but if there's new art and stats, I'd use them. :)

Re: High Efficiency Batteries for Jump

Resurrecting this old thread. I'd forgotten that _High Guard's_ Express Boat design uses batteries for jump. So in MgT2, it's canonical!
