Re: New Paizo SF RPG: Competitor with Traveller?
Spelljammer can be considered much further fantasy than Starfinder. Starfinder has elements of science while spelljammer is magic sailing ships in the ether between fantasy worlds. I sometimes wonder if the Spelljammer reality was overwritten by the gods replaced by the Starfinder reality. Stars ha...

Re: New Paizo SF RPG: Competitor with Traveller?
Just wondering, does Spelljammer compete with Traveller? Starfinder is as much science fiction as is Spelljammer, they are both fantasy settings just on different levels.

Re: Traveller Universe vs Star Wars vs Star Trek Tech ?
" personal combat was kind of broken, not so much because the rules were faulty as because the Star Trek setting didn't really allow consistent rules." Problem with making an RPG from various media sources s they don't fallow consistency even if they have a bible. RPG creators must look at the mate...

Re: World War II Galaxy
Here is my latest iteration of the World War II fighter

This one has a hyperdrive that consumes fuel so the range is limited.

Re: Borderland Run and Mission to Mithril in Print!
Just as an aside, how is it that you can have a border in Traveller when you have the Jump Drive, you can jump parsecs past the border from the Third Imperium to the Solomani Sphere, the Solomani can't intercept you starship, the first time they see you is when you drop out of Jump at the 100 diamet...

Here is the table for the minimum distances before the hyperdrive can be activated: https://orig00.deviantart.net/7e21/f/2018/292/7/d/world_travel_times_to_ftl_distance_by_thomasbowman767-dcpvdmd.png This assumes the ship starts on the planet's surface and then accelerates at the indicated number of...

https://orig00.deviantart.net/5c24/f/2018/291/d/a/hyperdrive_minimum_jump_distance_by_thomasbowman767-dcpqymy.png I'm developing the hyperdrive for my World War II Galaxy setting, but it could also be used in other settings of your choosing. Since I don't want ships just to make hyperdrive jumps fr...

Re: World War II Galaxy
For some inspiration, try looking at Iron Sky if only for the spaceships. Yep, mine is a more serious treatment of them however, the Nazis in this setting are just as evil as in actual history. Basically here I am working on hardware. I've updated the sheet for the fighter in my previous post. Ther...

Re: World War II Galaxy (antimatter)
I'm treating the antimatter bomb as an analog to the fission bomb developed in the Manhattan project, along with that comes the antimatter reactor, which is basically a means of obtaining useful energy through the controlled annihilation of matter with antimatter, a bomb is somewhat easier to make, ...

Re: World War II Galaxy
I already did some work on World War II. and I don't want to change the setting and throw out all of that work. It is weird enough that its happening in space, adding another twist where the Germans have already won, just makes it more confusing, plus I don't know what weapon systems would be develo...

Re: World War II Galaxy
Hi Tom, Re my comment on TL 12, I meant to say TL 12 is a minimum, and certainly expect to see higher TLs. Re German Civil War - it's the focus of my current solo miniatures gaming project which I'd like to port over somehow. It's assuming an alternative history timeline wherein Germany was victori...

Re: World War II Galaxy
Hi Tom, I like the idea of WW2G (WW II Galaxy) being somehow co-existent with the OTU Third Imperium Setting and Tech, but somewhat isolated from the mainstream of the OTU. For me though the most important element is to use the "look" of WWII equipment and uniforms but in a space setting. Overall t...

Re: World War II Galaxy
Hi Tom, Any further developments with your World War II Galaxy setting ? Thanks ! Gary I haven't worked on it in a while. Basically its a pseudo-Star Wars campaign, with Hitler replacing Emperor Palpatine. I did the work on another computer, which is now broken, but I posted everything here. I was ...
