Re: Hoping For New Legend Books In 2017

I wouldn't hold your breath. The "State of the Mongoose" is all about Traveller and Paranoia, no mention of Legend.

Re: Monsters of Legend 2

I saw it, I'm a big fan of Moonstone ;) As for the name, this is from the d20 document I'm working from so I can't ask the original authors where they got it from - sorry. The conversions you've posted so far appear to be from Mongoose's 2004 d20 monster book Monster Encyclopedia I: Ravagers of the...

Re: Magic World

I've started my way through the book and my initial impression is that it has a strong retro feel - I get the sense that it will play a lot like early RQ or Stormbringer with the rough edges files off (and that's not a bad thing at all!) Not at all surprising given my post above. Have you got Elric...

Re: Using RQ6 with Elric/Legend

If any of your players have Pacts (POW sacrifice), this option does not expressly exist in RQ6. Would probably be easiest to keep Legend-style Divine magic for that. Otherwise I agree should be very straightforward to transition. Seems pretty similar to me. Devotional Pool = Dedicated POW. Exhort =...

Re: Skaar, City of Orcs

I haven't gotten too far as yet, early introduction still. It seems to me as though this book was written for a different system, maybe, and converted to Legend? All the talk of Paladins and duergar. You're correct. It was originally published as Skraag: City of Orcs for d20 (http://ogrecave...

Re: Saurians and Serpent People - Our Favourite Poikilotherm

Really like the Saurian and Serpent folk stuff. Your saurians seems to effortlessly meld ufology, the classic lizard man, and the prehistoric reptile people of shows like Land of the Lost. One archetype that seems to be missing is the dragon man. Examples being D&D's kobolds (3/4e), draconians, and ...

Re: Creatures of Legend

Although I don't have Monsters of Legend comparing the index with Monster Coliseum adds these entries to those already mentioned. I've included their origins to distinguish why some were left out (IP issues) although it doesn't explain all of them. Gwenthia: Iqari Glorantha: Bolo Lizard, Demi-Bird, ...

If your goal is to produce an OGL sci fi game using RQ as a base then why not adapt other OGL material to RQ. There's wealth of stuff in the Future section of the d20 Modern SRD and there is a whole host of stuff from 3rd party publishers such as: Space Opera/Hard SF: Traveller20 (Quiklink) Reign of...

I didn't think RQ Slaine was that bad. I think it's worth mentioning that this is an adaptation of the background from the 2000AD comic strip which is loosely based on the Cu Chulainn cycle of stories. When I say loosely, I mean very loose, as the comics are set before the post Ice Age melt that sep...

Soltakss, First off, GORE (Generic Old-School Roleplaying Engine) might be of use to this project being a CoC retro clone. Also of use, for an example of Traveller style character generation in a BRP system is Future World . I'd suggest dropping SOC and PSI. PSI is covered by POW (or you could renam...

Moon Designs' reprint of Griffin Mountain contains all the contents of the original 1981 Griffin Mountain along with the extra material that was incorporated into Griffin Island. With a new layout and art it's well worth buying.

Are the 86ers part of your continuity or would that constitute a separate licence?

The artwork seems to be influenced by the Gibbons/Simpson reboot of the character (Friday) rather than the original Finley-Day/Gibbons version which 2000AD has recently returned to. Is this by design?

Yeah and I realize that Cthulhu could work to create a Pulp style game. But what I was thinking was more in the lines of being able to create and run any style Pulp style game similar to Daredevils! from Fantasy Flight Games. Pulp Cthulhu is supposed to be a self contained BRP game set in the 1930s...

RuneQuest Star Trek? Honestly I have to say I'm a bit sceptical about that...but I'm more Trekkie than doubtful, I'd give it a go... The FASA version of Star Trek was a percentile system like RuneQuest so it doesn't seem that off the wall. Similarly, Decipher's CODA system was very much inspired by...

Don't Mongoose have the RPG rights to all the Rebellion titles? It's not to say you couldn't offer to write a Rogue Trooper book for them.

Corum: There is already a CORUM sourcebook for the STORMBRINGER RPG. And i really doubt if other authors could do it better than that. There is not so much information on the world(s) of Corum. Darcsyde's Corum book is quite good but I do think that someone could do better. Moorcock apparently envi...

I believe that Chaosium were soliciting an author for a sci-fi companion volume to their forthcoming BRP: Chaosium's d100 System book. However, knowing how slowly Chaosium get things published I wouldn't expect to see it for a couple of years. Also, there is Avenger Enterprises' Translight, a BRP de...
