Traveller Fading Suns?

Hi guys, I was toying with the idea of running a Fading Suns game using Mongoose Traveller. I was just wondering if anyone had tried and if there were any particular challenges that you came across. I would imagine that the most difficult part would be including psi abilities and creating certain al...

Fading Suns is a great source of info. Good call. I happen to own Star Crusade. Actually, I've printed out the system/planetary maps from both Star Crusade and Lost Worlds, as well as those from the Noble Fiefs supplements. I'm using them all as the systems in my Traveller game. Man I miss playing t...

You know, I hadn't thought about the fact that ships can get too old to be of any use... Bah, I don't care. I like the idea of a ship that's over a century old. Gives it character. I've never been one to allow "logic" or what's "plausible" to get in the way of a good game : ) Besides, if the darn th...

Old Ships ideas for Traveller

I just absolutely LOVE the mechanics for getting a discount on the price of ships by having them be old and acquire quirks over the years. I've decided that each of my four players gets to roll each in turn clockwise for every 10 years of service, and they each get to roll 1D6 to see how many ship s...

Yeah, I've never been one to allow what's scientifically plausible to get in the way of a good game. I prefer high octane action sequences with lots of cinematic high jinks that are fun to play through and lift a middle finger to "reality". :D Along with sci-fi flicks, I have started to look at hist...

I desperately want to get my hands on the Agent book. I've purchased all the other career books so far and have loved them all. My local store hasn't gotten it yet though, but I check almost every week. Looking forward to checking out Stronium Dog too. I have the Star Wars Bounty Hunter book. Unfort...

Thanks guys.
That's great info.
Cowboy Bebop! I had completely forgotten about that. Great Anime.
I'll check out the GURPS supplement. Thanks.

I appreciate the crunchy info on volume too. Thanks again.

A few questions for a new Traveller campaign.

So I'm getting ready to introduce people to the Mongoose Traveller system (MTU featuring instant jumps to the edge of a solar system like in Batlestar Galactica and sublight travel into and out of systems to the jump point) and I'm looking for some ideas or advise about the following: 1- Is there an...

Just a quick word of thanks.

I don't often post on forums as a general rule, but I just wanted to take a moment and offer a quick word of thanks for all the hard work and dedication that Matt and the rest of the Mongoose staff put into all the products released year in and year out. They have consistently delivered quality prod...

I don't know if this will mean anything to people, but there's an RPG called Battlelords of the 23rd Century that features the most customizable powered armors I've ever seen in any rpg. You can add arm rockets, personal force fields, jet packs, shoulder mounted blasters, and a plethora of other stu...

Plastic Minis?

Does anyone have any suggestions for using cheap plastic minis to represent PC's and NPC's in Traveller? I was toying with the idea of hunting down a few Halo Heroclix figs, since they look like Battle dressed troops, but I was also hoping to find stuff to represent bounty hunters and space pirates ...

Power Armor/Battle Dress

Hi, I'm still in the process of trying to figure out the Traveller universe since I have no prior experience with it. I was wondering, is Power Armor and Battle Dress the same thing? Are they common enough so that a group of mercs can get their hands on them? How much customization is there for said...

I'd love to see a lot more on cybernetics and bionics.
A psionics book would be great.
And something that allows players to customize their ships. Though I suspect that might be covered in HighGuard.

Cyberware/Gear book for Traveller

I've never played any of the previous incarnations of Traveller, but it seems odd that I've never heard anyone who has played it make mention of heavily Cybered characters. I realise that this is likely due to the default universe of Traveller, but since the Mongoose version will be more universal i...

Noob questions.

Hi guys, just a few quick questions concerning the Traveller universe, as I've been hearing about it for years, but have never played. In all my years of gaming, the one thing I've always had a hard time time finding is a sci-fi game with all of the following elements: 1- Aliens, 2- Power armour 3- ...

Oh yeah, Tortage absolutely deserves a dedicated product of it's own. Box set, hard cover book, whatever, but more than a 5 page article (even if said article was great, don't get me wrong...).

Zamboula is also a great pick, natch'.

This, I can live with.

...but it may have been edited out because Tortage was used in Signs and Portents...
Does anyone know what issue it was in, or if it will be included in "The Conan Compendium" book? Tortage is a setting I've wanted details on for a long time now. I had no idea it had already been covered.

Horizon??? Are you kidding me? There's soooooo much stuff that can be done with this liscense I can see it going on for years to come yet. As for interest, I have no doubt that every year more and more people will discover the game. Slowly perhaps, but that's where people like you and I come in. To ...
